Suffering from a weakened immune system, Looney caught a calicivirus and developed a polyp that pierced his jaw!

1. He lacks teeth due to a calicivirus infection…

Looney is a cat of about eight years who lives with a chronic calicivirus. To alleviate the inflammation in his mouth, he had to undergo extraction of several teeth. We also have a treatment to give him when he is in crisis.

2. His health is very fragile!

Looney also developed an unusual nasal polyp that penetrated his jaw. Despite its location, it was an ear polyp, which surprised the vet.

During examinations, we discovered that Looney suffers from feline infectious peritonitis, a disease which weakens his immune system…

3. Canned food would help keep him stable

Canned paté could greatly aid Looney. Its soft texture would be ideal for him, considering his tooth extraction and would allow him to eat without pain.

Such a diet could also support his immune system, weakened by FIP, and would contribute to maintaining his health despite his vulnerabilities…

4. Many tomcats are not adoptable…

We currently manage about a hundred cats in our association, many of which are considered unadoptable due to their health condition, feral nature, or advanced age…

With peoples' financial resources diminishing, our challenges are intensifying. These cats are distributed among foster homes and with us, requiring constant care and management. Unfortunately, our resources are severely limited!
