After being shot at multiple times, poor Ruben has developed epilepsy...

1. He developed traumatic epilepsy following mistreatment…

Ruben is a 7-year-old cat, who was seized over two years ago due to being mercilessly mistreated. He was shot at and has been left with a body full of pellets.

Traumatised, he began suffering from episodes of epilepsy. On hunting days, when gunshots from hunters can be heard in the distance, he experiences partial seizures and can begin convulsing…

2. He can no longer eat dry food kibbles!

Despite the treatments, Ruben's mouth is inflamed and filled with ulcers. Therefore, he can no longer eat dry food kibbles as it is too painful. We are in the process of testing a new treatment, which seems promising…

3. Blankets could help him relax

For a cat in Ruben’s conditions, a set of blankets would mean much more than mere material comfort. It would offer him a safe and snug space, which could help him to regain some relief and serenity.

This would be an opportunity for him to enjoy a sense of safety and warmth, especially beneficial after all he has had to endure.

4. Abandonment is multiplying, but not adoptions...

Our organisation is experiencing increasing pressure because of a substantial number of ill animals in need of expensive care.

People's hesitation to adopt these animals, combined with a rise in abandoning old or suffering cats, aggravates our constraints… not to mention that the feeding areas are expanding, which further adds to our difficulties!
