Animal Webaction visited the site 26 April 2026 and confirms the situation described below.

1. In Morocco, Rokaya has no kibble left to feed the 177 dogs at her shelter. They will starve to death if no one helps them!

%%%

"I’ve just taken in two more dogs, even though the shelter is already full. I couldn’t leave them on the street: they were too fragile, too vulnerable, and there was no one else to help them... But every new rescue also means more mouths to feed, at a time when I’m already struggling to find enough kibble for the dogs who are here!

The dogs aren’t eating properly, or enough. I’ve already been forced to reduce their portions for a month and a half. And today, the situation is critical: there isn’t a single piece of kibble left. I went back to the pet shop, but because I already owe them money, they refused to give me credit this time...

I feel trapped on all sides: no stock left, no more credit possible, and 177 dogs depending on me. I can put off certain expenses, I can give up on repairs, but I can’t put off their hunger..."

2. The dogs are on edge, the sick ones are growing weaker… without kibble, not all of them will survive.

###

"The lack of kibble is already showing in the dogs. Some are becoming more tense, more irritable, sometimes even more aggressive, because they are hungry. Others are staying calm for now, but I know they won’t last long like this. Hunger always ends up changing them...

Many already have health problems: cancers, itching that comes back with spring and summer approaching, disabilities, old age… Without kibble, everything will get worse. A dog who is already suffering can’t fight on an empty stomach!

If I can’t find any more kibble, I don’t know what I’m going to do. Some dogs might perhaps look for food outside, but the sick ones? The disabled ones? Those who can’t fend for themselves? They only have the shelter. And the shelter, without kibble, can no longer protect them... I can no longer protect them."

3. Barely rescued, suspected of having blood cancer, Tara is in critical condition: without kibble, she won’t be able to fight.

###

"Tara arrived at the shelter just eight days ago. She was found in a very worrying state, and we don’t know exactly what happened to her. She may have been abandoned because she was sick, or she may have fallen ill on the street… but in that condition, I couldn’t leave her alone.

She is over six years old, she is very calm, but above all she is very fragile. The vet says she has symptoms consistent with blood cancer. She needs care, monitoring, and to regain her strength. Without kibble, a dog like her has no chance of fighting.

Tara depends entirely on the shelter to eat and receive care. Outside, she would not survive. Here, I can protect her, but only if I have something to feed her with. For her, kibble is what allows her to keep going day after day..."

4. Vet, pharmacy, pet shop, repairs… everything is piling up: buying kibble again is impossible without this campaign.

###

"The financial situation keeps getting worse. People who used to help have drifted away, others only donate from time to time. Calls for help are getting fewer and fewer responses, and it’s hard, because here, every bit of support counts to keep the shelter going.

The debts are piling up: vet, pharmacy, pet shop, kibble, equipment… I can no longer pay for sterilisations, vaccinations, or repairs. When something breaks, I no longer have the means to replace it, and this week, it was the pump that brings water up from the borehole that broke down.

I’ve contacted new sponsors, organisations, I’ve kept posting and asking for help, but responses are too rare. Today, I no longer see any other way to get enough kibble. This campaign is essential: it would allow the dogs to eat properly again, and allow me to care for them without this constant fear of having nothing left to give them."

5. Rokaya is not asking for money, only kibble to keep the dogs from starving to death.

###

"My bond with the dogs is very strong. I don’t just look after them: I feel responsible for them, because they depend completely on me. When they come to see me, when I feel them calmer, safer, it moves me deeply. Many arrive frightened, weak, traumatised… and little by little, they learn to trust again. That’s what keeps me going.

But behind that, there is enormous pressure. I’m thinking all the time about kibble, money, their health, rent, employees, debts, the next vaccinations. Even when everything looks calm from the outside, in my head it never stops. It’s a lot of stress, truly. It follows me everywhere, it wears me down physically and mentally.

A shelter like mine cannot survive without help. One person alone cannot pay for kibble, care, repairs, all the daily costs for so many dogs. I need people to stand with me, and behind them! Without support, I cannot give them what I promised them: a safe place, care, and enough to eat."

6. By taking action now, you can help Rokaya receive 2900 kilos of kibble.

Animal Webaction has a logistics centre in Morocco which allows us to intervene quickly and deliver kibble throughout the country.

7. Campaigns launched on Animal Webaction often fail...

When a campaign fails, Animal Webaction cannot deliver the products. The beneficiary doesn't receive anything and the buyers are refunded.

8. In Morocco, donors are scarce, and there are no foundations or subsidies. It is very difficult to find funding for kibble, many dogs remain starving in the street!
