Teeth pulled out, FIV, renal failure... poor Perryres is riddled with health problems!

1. The calicivirus cost him his teeth...

Perryres is a cat of around 9 years old, which we took under our wing as part of a rescue of over twenty cats from uncontrolled breeding. He contracted the calicivirus: this virus induced severe inflammations in his mouth, so severe that he had to have multiple teeth extracted. He has also tested positive for FIV, the feline immunodeficiency virus, which weakens his immune defences.

2. His kidneys are also affected...

As if that wasn't enough, Perryres also suffers from kidney failure. His kidneys no longer function properly, further aggravating an already very fragile health condition. He is currently in quarantine, awaiting us to provide him with better accommodations.

3. Renal canned food could help him hold on

For Perryres, a diet tailored to his kidney condition is essential. Renal canned food, rich in water, would relieve the filtration work of his weakened kidneys. It would also allow him to eat more easily despite his missing teeth, while supporting an organism already tested by FIV.

4. The association rests on a single person's shoulders...

We currently have over 35 cats under our care, including about fifteen kittens. The association relies almost entirely on a single volunteer, who works to meet her own needs. Here, in the rural atmosphere, adult cat adoptions have been stagnant for the past two or three years. Veterinary bills are piling up, donations are almost nonexistent, and our reserves are running out: we need help more than ever.
