In Romania, Angelica has no more food for her 180 dogs, they will starve to death!

The association 4NewLife is sending us an emergency call for Angelica's shelter.

We were on site on September 7th, the kibble stock is almost finished.

Hosted in packs, the dogs will start killing each other again if we do not intervene.

Exhausted and overwhelmed by the lack of resources, Angelica is totally helpless.

The association 4NewLife is her only support, but the task is too big for its team to handle alone, they can't buy anymore kibble.

We would like to send 4200 kg of kibble as a matter of urgency to help them.

1. From September 15th, Angelica will have no more kibbles for her 180 dogs, they will kill each other again!

$$$ — Because there are not enough separations, fights can easily break out between the dogs in the shelter. When dogs have enough to eat, fights do not happen often, but are exacerbated by the lack of food. Victim of an attack by the other dogs of the shelter this summer, Casius did not survive

### — Without enough pens, the majority of dogs are kept in packs at the shelter. During the last food shortage, fights broke out frequently, several dogs died of their injuries

Wounds from fighting can take weeks to heal, as the shelter is located in a very damp area. Wounds become infected quickly, and larvae frequently appear inside

### — At the time of our visit, there were only 500 kg of kibble left at the shelter, which needs 70 kg per day. Enough to feed the dogs for only one week....

Between her shelter and her home, Angelica cares for 180 dogs, whom she struggles to feed: periods of food shortages have followed one another in recent months, and the consequences are worsening.

At the end of July, at the height of the shortage, the French association 4NewLife informed us that "The situation has worsened in Alexandria, the animals no longer have anything to eat and are killing each other". Faced with the degree of urgency, the association intervened as much and as quickly as it could, going on site in August, and bringing a few hundred kilos of kibble.

But in a few days' time, this stock will be used up, and the association will not be able to intervene any further, she asks us to help them: "The situation is more catastrophic than expected", Astrid, her President, told us a few days ago, fearing that things would turn into a disaster again.

2. Weakened by successive times of malnutrition, dogs are more vulnerable to disease

### — Particularly sensitive, the younger ones struggle to fight malnutrition, which distorts their limbs and makes them more vulnerable to disease

$$$ — An outbreak of parvovirus already took more than 30 puppies away this summer.... A new case was detected at the beginning of September, the puppy did not resist the disease. The shelter still has about twenty puppies to date, they must eat enough to resist

For several times since the beginning of the year, dogs have experienced weeks when they could not eat every day due to lack of resources.

Weakened, they are more vulnerable to diseases, and the youngest already suffer from growth problems: "their bones are deformed by the lack of calcium" explains the association.

We must at all costs help them to have enough kibble for the coming months!

3. We want to help them

### — Discovered in August, Myna has only been at the shelter for a few weeks, and is only 3 months old. She must absolutely eat enough to fight diseases

### — Only two years old, Albinosul is scared and has already been involved in fights with the other dogs at the shelter

### — Thrown over the fence of the shelter in a simple plastic bag, Negruta owes her survival to Angelica, who will soon no longer be able to feed her enough

### — Vasi, 4 months old, is currently unharmed and has no sequelae of malnutrition, but this will not last if Angelica does not find kibble

### — At 14, Bobyta is one of the oldest residents of the shelter, but also one of the most vulnerable...

### — Discreet, Fetita is quite frightened by the environment of the shelter, and will be unable to fight to eat

### — Hit by a car, Lucy had to be amputated from one of her hind legs, and owes her survival to the shelter

4. If we don't reach the target, dogs won't receive anything

We can take action, we have booked a truck and pallets, but we have to pay it before September 13th.

If the collection fails, we will not be able to pay, the departure of the truck will be cancelled and none of the collected kibbles will be delivered...

If the collection fails, we will refund all donors.

5. Angelica has already sold all her belongings for the dogs, she has nothing left to buy kibbles

### — For the past 10 years, Angelica has been sacrificing everything she has for dogs

Involved in animal welfare for over 10 years, Angelica has gradually abandoned her former life to take care of dogs full time. Deprived of a source of income, because she no longer worked to care for dogs, she sold almost all her belongings over the years, until there was nothing left for her.

Today, Angelica shares her mother's meagre pension, and no longer has any other source of income, it has become totally impossible for her to buy kibble!

6. Exhausted and depressed, she needs help urgently

### — Our agent David accompanied Angelica to the shelter, but also to her home where dozens of dogs are kept. "I think Angelica is close to her limit. Even if her motivation and bravery stands out, the lack of money and help will make the situation worse"

### — 180 dogs depend on Angelica for their survival, we must help her to continue her fight

Up at 6 a.m. every morning, and in bed at 1 a.m. at the earliest, Angelica is alone every day to take care of the 180 dogs in her care. Because several dozen of them are hosted into her home, and have already led to several complaints from neighbours, she also remains on standby all night to prevent any barking...

This is an impossible pace to maintain over time, in addition to the lack of resources and the stock of kibbles that will soon be used up. Exhausted, Angelica has started to develop health problems, and absolutely needs support to continue fighting for her dogs.

7. The association 4NewLife is Angelica's only support, but cannot save the shelter on its own

The members of the association went to lend a hand to Angelica for 10 days this summer, and will return again next month

Deworming, vaccinations and spaying: the association has been organizing itself for weeks to catch up on the care that could no longer be provided by Angelica

All the pens built this summer were built thanks to the funding and support of the association, which did its utmost to improve the conditions for dogs

Made aware several months ago of the difficulties encountered by Angelica, the association 4NewLife has since worked hard to help her. In particular, it has organised vaccination and de-worming campaigns for dogs, prepared spaying and neutering, and has taken care of several sick or paralysed dogs.

Its team came on site for 10 days this summer and plans a new visit in the fall, which will allow her to continue the work started at the shelter. But with several shelters to support, they are overwhelmed by the scale of the task, and ask us to intervene for food "For the sponsors, she doesn't have any, she doesn't manage to find any, there's only me for the moment, depending on the means we have" says Astrid, President of the association.

8. The shelter is worn out and lacks everything, the conditions are very difficult

### — Due to lack of resources, Angelica was unable to build the pens she hoped for at the shelter, most dogs have no shelter.... Only a few enclosures could be built by the 4NewLife association this summer, but this is far from enough

### — Tarpaulins and sheets have been used to create shade this summer, but will not be able to protect dogs from the weather conditions of the coming winter

### — Due to the lack of means to repair the water pump when it broke, Angelica was forced to improvise another one. Without resources, only resourcefulness allows Angelica and the dogs to get by

### — The dogs also do not have concrete slabs or even gravel on the ground. The shelter is located in a wet area, the ground is often muddy and winter is difficult under these conditions

The work started by 4NewLife is essential in preparation for winter, as the dogs will not be able to be protected from the cold in their current condition.

Their involvement and efforts alongside Angelica means a lot to the 180 dogs in the shelter, we must support them for this project.
