Animal Webaction visited the site 19 October 2019 and confirms the situation described below.

In Romania, this shelter has no more kibbles for its 211 dogs, they will starve to death!

While diseases are raging at the shelter, kibbles are almost used up.

With 211 dogs, the shelter is overloaded, Georgiana is desperate.

Her calls for help are not working, and she can no longer buy kibble.

The few associations that support her are also overwhelmed.

We would like to send 3000 kg of kibble as a matter of urgency.

100% transparency guaranteed

1. Diseases have been raging for weeks at the shelter, several dogs have already died. Without kibbles to fight, the others are in danger!

$$$
Because her immune system was already weak, Serena contracted pneumonia, which took her away in just a few days in mid-October

$$$
Rescued from the municipal pound, Sally suffered from multiple illnesses, and her condition quickly deteriorated: she died on October 16

$$$
In September, a few recently rescued puppies brought parvovirus to the shelter. Very contagious, the disease spread among the others, 15 puppies died in a few weeks only

$$$
Separated from his mother shortly after birth and thrown into the garbage, this young puppy is the last to have died at the shelter, despite Georgiana's efforts to save him

For several weeks now, the shelter has been beset by diseases.... An outbreak of parvovirus first broke out, brought by puppies rescued by Georgiana: despite careful disinfection, dozens of puppies were contaminated, many died.

Several dogs also contracted kennel cough, which progressed to pneumonia in those whose immune system was already weakened...

We must at all costs ensure that all dogs can eat enough to fight against diseases.

2. With 211 dogs, the shelter is overloaded, and the kibble stock will be used up by October 29th

###
The shelter now houses 211 dogs, all possible spaces are occupied. However, Georgiana is called every day for new rescues...

###
During our visit on October 19, there were only 200 kg of kibbles left at the shelter, which have now been used up for several days already

###
Cornered, Georgiana only managed to take a few bags on credit, which will allow the dogs to eat for a maximum of 1 week, and does not know what she will do next

On October 19, our agent Alexandru went to the Georgiana's shelter following her calls for help. On the spot, he met the 211 dogs sheltered and cared for by Georgiana. At that time, 200 kg of kibble remained, but 80 kg are needed every day for them to eat their fill.

Since our visit, all the bags have been used, Georgiana has been forced to buy back on credit, but the kibbles will be over again from October 29th, she does not know how to keep going...

3. Despite her cries for help, Georgiana doesn't see things brighten up, she's desperate

###
"Every single month i have to struggle, not to sleep to try to have the food and the rent paid and workers..not talk about the debts... Is way too much for 1 person and i do it since so long.." deplores Georgiana, who has less and less strength

Georgiana has been trying for several weeks to make ends meet, and is trying by all possible means to make the difficulties faced by the shelter understood, in the hope of getting more support.

Despite her efforts, she still sees no positive perspectives on the horizon, and wonders how to continue her fight for abandoned dogs.

"Every month, I have to fight, not sleep to try to get food and pay rent and employees...not to mention debts... It's too much for one person, and I've been doing it for so long..." she says, fearing that she won't be able to do it anymore.

4. We met all the dogs at the shelter, they need our help

###
On site on October 19, our agent Alexandru went to meet the 211 dogs housed at the shelter

###
Recently rescued from the pound, as he was dying out there, Balu was skeletal and suffered from a skin condition. He is currently under treatment, and remains very fragile

###
Born in the yard of a factory, this young puppy was rescued with 6 other puppies, from two different litters. He is one of those who survived parvovirus, but has already overcome many hardships

###
Found on the street, Iris suffered a serious leg injury, and had obviously been separated from her recently born puppies.... Georgiana rescued her, and entrusted her with 4 other abandoned puppies found shortly afterwards

###
Rescued while at the pound, Cheliuta suffered from skin problems and a hernia that required surgery. Elderly, he is one of the vulnerable dogs at the shelter

###
Caught by dogcatchers and impounded, Maronica was categorized as dangerous, although he has never shown aggressiveness since Georgiana has known him.... Maronica suffers from digestive and neurological problems that are difficult to control

###
Left on the street with a large abdominal tumor, Nelly also suffered from sepsis and would not have survived long without Georgiana's intervention. Recently operated on, she still needs a second surgery

###
Abandoned by her owner who could no longer take care of her, Ada suffered from a major breast tumour, which was operated on in October. Elderly and convalescent, Ada is particularly vulnerable

###
Left to her own devices in the village where she lived, Linda struggled to survive. Feeding on the remains she managed to find, Linda stuck her jaw in a can, with which she stayed for days. When Georgiana intervened, the wound had already become infected, several treatments were necessary to heal it

###
Wandering while sick and wounded, Grivei was rescued by Georgiana a few months ago. He has since undergone surgery for a tumour and a leg injury, and also suffers from liver problems, his health is fragile

###
Rescued following a report, Azorica is only three years old. Completely blind, he spent most of his life in chains, a particularly stressful situation given his disability. Recently brought to the shelter, he is still undergoing treatment but will never regain his sight
###
Entrusted to Georgiana by a resident who feared for her, Dolly has only recently arrived at the shelter, already heavily pregnant

5. If we don't reach the target, dogs won't receive any food

A failed collection on Animal Webaction

We can take action, we have already booked a truck and pallets, but we have to pay it before 29 October.

If the collection fails, we will not be able to pay, the departure of the truck will be cancelled and none of the collected kibbles will be delivered...

If the collection fails, we will refund all donors.

6. Veterinary needs are immense and relentless, Georgiana cannot reconcile medical care and food expenses

###
The shelter now has 29 puppies, many of them have required treatment following the parvovirus outbreak that struck a few weeks ago, the costs are staggering!

###
Georgiana also helps many elderly dogs, for whom the prospects on the street or in the pound are particularly cruel... The shelter has nearly 30 of them, many of them requiring regular care and intervention

Over the past 3 months, Georgiana has rescued 55 animals, and allowed the adoption of 40 others... an unceasing ballet, made of urgent veterinary care to allow rescues, others dedicated to preparations for adoption, and those intended to treat the residents of the shelter, especially those aging or suffering from chronic diseases.

"It is very difficult to fundraise for food as in the same time i have to fundraise for the sick dogs. Is a huge stress always thinking how will i do it next month considering the so many expensive have in the moment .Is really hard as i never managed to have enough funds for all food needed"

So far, Georgiana has managed to get by by buying low quality kibbles, but even this option is a real challenge that she can't meet anymore.

7. Some small associations support the shelter, but none can help to buy kibble!

From England, the West Yorkshire Animal in Need association is an immeasurable support for Georgiana, but cannot cover the current costs

Georgiana is very active and collaborates with many small associations abroad, both to promote her dogs for adoption, to maximize rescues, and to make the voice of animal advocates heard.

Unfortunately, the only association that was able to help Georgiana with the purchase of food, West Yorkshire Animal in Need, no longer has the resources to meet the shelter's current needs: "WYAIN can't help as much as we used to or as much as we would like", says Tommi Townsend, President of the association.

For now, only the German association Hunde in Not Pfarrkirchen e. V. helps Georgiana with the purchase of puppy food, which she cannot afford to buy herself, but it is impossible for them to do more.

8. For them, Georgiana makes a huge difference

###
Born on the street in a village where they were threatened by the locals, these 7 puppies are the only survivors on a litter of 11, only thanks to Georgiana's intervention. Rescued with their mother Hedwig, they were severely infested with worms, their lives were hanging by a thread. They will soon be taken to Germany for adoption

Wandering in a village where he was not wanted, George was rescued by Georgiana in mid-October. With severe skin disease and several infections, George would not have had a chance of survival without her

Riley was hit by a car in mid-October and was simply left on the side of the road, despite obvious injuries. Following a report, Georgiana came to his rescue: no one for more than 24 hours had done so before her. Paralyzed, he needs surgery to have a chance to walk again

Georgiana has been rescuing all dogs, whatever their condition, whatever the medical costs involved, or the difficulty of their recovery, for several years. Without her, these dogs would have had no other chance.

Thanks to all her efforts to develop new partnerships, Georgiana also has a very high adoption rate, including for disabled dogs:  that is why we must help her to continue!

9. Georgiana put her life on hold to save Fagaras' dogs

###

Her shelter in Fagaras only dates back to 2017, but her commitment to animal protection dates back to many more years. Georgiana's love for the dogs in her shelter is visible to the naked eye, and emanates from each of the interactions we observed during our visit.

However, the sacrifices are many, and the daily life very difficult for her at the shelter: "I feel exhausted and overwhelmed, every day there is a new emergency. I've had many small puppies thrown away at garbage which had to be fed by hand, many nights without sleep.. Every night and every morning I
ask God and the Universe to give me strenght to continue this mission. My biggest fear is to get sick as without me nothing could go on. From 211 dogs maybe just 10 are sponsored and all the others depend on me.
"

10. The plight of stray dogs in Romania

Georgiana's shelter is located in the centre of Romania
