1. A virus prevents her from eating normally...

Mélusine is a 15-year-old cat suffering from calicivirus. As her gums are inflamed, she drools a lot. The inside of her mouth is so painful that she can't chew her food anymore...

This problem comes back from time to time: she then needs a cortisone injection and antibiotics, as well as wet food. Unfortunately, we can't afford all of this.

2. With canned food, she could get stronger without being in too much pain

Less difficult to eat than kibble, canned food would allow Mélusine to regain her strength. This would prevent her from losing too much weight and would keep her going while the treatments take effect.
