Sore gums, inflammation, tooth removal: Sam is dealing with a very virulent calicivirus!

1. He has a disease that comes back in waves...

Sam is a cat of about 7 years old, affected by a severe form of calicivirus. The disease comes back episodically.

In full crisis, Sam's gums are so inflamed that they cause him a lot of pain! To relieve him a little, the veterinary surgeon thus preferred to remove all his teeth.

2. Without his teeth, he can't chew!

Since he has no teeth, Sam can't chew anymore. It is now impossible for him to eat kibble, or any other solid food that needs to be chewed...

3. He will need canned food to help him regain his strength

Canned food with a soft, moist texture would be perfect for Sam. He won't have to chew it, and he'll be able to eat again without too much pain.

4. Abandonment cases are on the rise!

It's hard right now, because we are facing high abandonment rates of adult cats and kittens with or without their mothers. This phenomenon is even bigger than in previous years. And as we don't have any more food stock, the situation is not sustainable...
