Animal Webaction visited the site 28 August 2021 and confirms the situation described below.

1. In Morocco, Ahmed has almost no kibble left to feed the 300 dogs supported by the association. They will starve if nobody intervenes!

"The association is currently hosting more than 300 dogs in the shelter, and also feeds hundreds of street dogs. Unfortunately our donations have decreased a lot, people don't have the same means anymore because of the pandemic.

The number of dogs in need is not decreasing however, there are more and more dogs that have been injured or are in very bad conditions and need our help. We do our best to help but the current lack of kibble limits us greatly in our actions.

We've already had to ration the dogs for a week, and at the moment we only have 40 kilos left, which is not even enough for one day... The lack of kibble saddens and anguishes me. I am very worried for the dogs and the consequences that this will have on their health if no solution is found. I appeal to everyone's solidarity, we desperately need help."

2. Several hundred stray dogs also count on Ahmed to eat: without kibble, they are destined to die!

###

"The condition of Rabat's street dogs is not good. Many of them feed themselves as best they can, by scavenging... They are in bad health, have allergies, skin problems... They are all in distress and are often mistreated by the population.

They arrive at the shelter in bad shape, weak, sick, traumatized or disabled... We try to help as many as possible, especially the most vulnerable ones. Unfortunately we cannot take them all in due to lack of spaces and resources, so we try our hardest to feed the ones who stay in the streets. But even feeding has become complicated, the number of dogs in need is simply huge...

Our actions for Rabat's street dogs are indispensable, they're what allows them to survive. They also allow us to raise the community's awareness on the fate of these animals. But without kibble, all this becomes impossible."

3. Monika arrived at the shelter a few days ago, emaciated and traumatized. Her survival depends on this new kibble arrival!

###

"Monika has been at the shelter for a few days only, she was taken here by the municipality following a complaint. She arrived very traumatized, she is very fearful of humans, she was mistreated in the street...

Her current state of health is very degraded, she is in a state of extreme malnutrition. Her condition is very critical, she needs quality kibble in order to gain weight and regain her health, but unfortunately we can no longer provide that... If no solution is found, she may not survive"

4. Without subsidies, the association suffers greatly from the drop in donations. Debts are piling up and Ahmed can no longer buy kibble.

###

"This pandemic has affected us on many levels, the number of dogs on the street is increasing, we have to sterilize and vaccinate everyone, finance the maintenance of the shelter, food, treatments... We can no longer receive volunteers at the shelter either because of the sanitary measures. We are desperately short of help, and donations are at an all-time low.

Our costs are huge, we are already indebted to the vets because most of the dogs we rescue are usually sick or injured and need special, expensive care. We do our best to care for them but it is very difficult.

Our personal resources do not allow us to finance everything, and although the municipality encourages us in our actions, we do not receive any subsidy. We really need help so that we can help and feed these animals."

5. Ahmed isn't asking for money, only kibble to keep the dogs from starving.

###

"I feel like our actions are really starting to make a difference, and changing people's minds about the animal cause. When people see us feeding the dogs, it positively affects their way of seeing things.

One of our victories is to have been able to stop the killings here in Rabat with the help of the municipality, it's a big step. However, I feel sad about the killings that continue in other regions...

Animals deserve to be treated well, wherever they are. Personally, I devote all my time to them, I love them very much and I do my best to give them as much affection as possible, but it is not enough. What they ultimately need is to get adopted by a loving family."

6. If this campaign succeeds, Ahmed will not receive any money but 2300 kg of kibbles, delivered from Animal Webaction's logistics platform in Morocco.

Animal Webaction has a logistic platform in Morocco which allows us to intervene quickly and deliver kibbles throughout the country.

7. Ahmed's pleas for help are not enough to get back on track. He no longer knows how to get kibble.

"We publish donation appeals on social media and other platforms, it helps a little, but it's not nearly enough to help us cope with all the expenses. I really hope that with the help of this campaign, people will contribute more to help, because unfortunately, we can't do anything in this world without support, be it financial, material, or moral.

We sorely need help to be able to feed and care for the dogs in the shelter and on the street, it is essential for their survival and to give them a better life."

8. Campaigns launched on Animal Webaction often fail.

When a campaign fails, Animal Webaction cannot deliver the collected products, the beneficiary receives nothing and the buyers get a refund.

9. In Morocco, donors are scarce, and there are no foundations or subsidies . It is very difficult to find funding for kibbles, many dogs remain starving in the street!
