Animal Webaction visited the site 11 September 2021 and confirms the situation described below.

1. In Morocco, Sally is running out of kibble to feed the many street dogs cared for by her association. They are in danger of starving to death!

%%%

"Tangier counts thousands of street dogs, everyday we come across dogs that are in bad shape and need help. We are doing our best in order not to be in such a situation, thanks to our association more dogs are vaccinated and sterilized, their health is better as well. But unfortunatly, lack of resources has more drawbacks, I cannot manage to handle all this by myself because the number of dogs is just huge.

We do have a big problem feeding all these dogs, it costs a fortune and we are really struggling with finances, that's why we need help urgently. Some dogs are in bad shape and underweight, and they need more food to get better.

It scares me a lot, it will have desastrous consequences if we don't find kibble, with a very bad impact on street dogs. We pray our voices will be heard, and we will get enough help to avoid this."

2. Sally's sanctuary is also home to 450 dogs that have been rescued from the streets and various kinds of abuse. They too are threatened by the lack of kibble.

%%%

"We have got 450 dogs in the sanctuary at this moment. Their number has decreased a bit, which is a good thing, but they are still many. The first thing our dogs need is health care, and enough quantity of food.

We always do our best, sometimes we need to buy food daily because of the huge number of dogs that we feed and our lack of resources, but even that is becoming impossible. We are getting a lot less donations, which is leading to a lack of food and that will certainly have an impact on these dogs.

We need all the help we can get and we appreciate all what people will do for us to make dogs lives better."

3. Abandoned after being neglected for a long time, Alaska is still thin and needs kibble to get better.

###

"Alaska was abandoned and we rescued her two months ago. She was in a terrible state, she was very neglected and craves a lot of attention.

She is still underweight to this day, and obviously without food we can't make her better, she needs to be able to eat enough..."

4. Donations are still far too low compared to the needs, debts are piling up and threatening the survival of the dogs and the association. Sally cannot buy any more kibble.

###

"Unfortunatly due to the pandemic situation, donations are not enough for this huge number of dogs, and things are not getting any better. We owe a fortune to our veterinarian, several thousands euros, and we also have to pay the workers, the food shop owner etc... We have many debts already.

Of course there are a number of challenges facing us on a general basis, but our biggest fear is related to our lack of resources, as it creates many problems that might hinder our activity strongly, lack of food being a very important one, and have a negative impact on our dogs, our association and ourselves. I am frightened, it is a real trauma."

5. Sally is not asking for money, only kibble to prevent the dogs from starving.

###

"When I was a child I was always feeding and taking care of street dogs and wanted so bad to have a caring and loving home for them. This sanctuary is a dream coming true. We want to sterilize all dogs and cats ( at least 80%), we want to eradicate rabies and be the role model city for all countries to follow. Cullin, we want the cullings to stop, and prove to everyone we can all live in harmony.

We have been selected as the winner of the Global Rabies Day Award in the Meracon region for the third year running! Thanks to our amazing supporters, our Project Hayat is again recognised internationally.

Plus, we see changes, people nowadays are more aware that these creatures need to be taken into consideration. They need us by their side. They are pure souls as well. I am very happy when I go out in the morning to check on the street dogs and some people stop me either to ask for our association's number in case of need or to know more about dogs. I feel thankful. That's why we need help to continue."

6. If this campaign succeeds, Sally will not receive any money but 3500 kg of kibble, delivered from the Animal Webaction logistic platform in Morocco.

Animal Webaction has a logistics center in Morocco, which allows us to intervene quickly and deliver kibble.

7. Multiple calls for donations and contacts with international foundations have not solved the lack of kibble, Sally relies on this campaign.

"We do our best to get enough help, we constantly ask for help on Social media, and we have contacted other organisations as well. Harmony Funds tried to raise some money for us, yet we couldn't manage to pay all the vet bills of 1000 dollars.

So of course if we don't get enough donations we can not cover food bills, veterinarian bills, and other monthly obligations... Our case must be taken seriously, we seriously do need help."

8. Campaigns launched on Animal Webaction often fail.

When a campaign fails, Animal Webaction cannot deliver the products. The beneficiary doesn't receive anything and the buyers are refunded.

9. In Morocco, donors are scarce, and there are no foundations or subsidies. It is very difficult to find funding for kibble, many dogs remain starving on the street!
