Animal Webaction visited the site 19 October 2021 and confirms the situation described below.

1. In Romania, Maria has almost no kibble left to feed the 37 dogs in her shelter. They might starve if nobody intervenes!

"The majority of the dogs in my shelter are rescues from the municipal pound. Underfed and mistreated, they live a hell at the pound, I can't bring myself to leave them there! No one cares, no one does anything, the dogs need me, I even saved several from euthanasia.

The daily pressure of wondering if there will be enough kibble for all the dogs in the shelter is unbearable for me, it's an indescribable feeling that I wouldn't wish on anyone. When the dogs don't eat enough, they become violent, the dominant ones attack the most vulnerable who are not able to defend themselves... It's a real chaos, and it forces me to make difficult decisions.

Today I only have a few bags of kibble left in stock, I would be heartbroken if I let down so many needy dogs..."

2. Pongo has just been rescued from the pound, he needs kibble to heal his wounds!

###

"When I rescued him from the pound a few days ago, Pongo had deep bite marks all over his body! Unable to fend for himself, he needs a lot of care and proper food to heal from his injuries, and to finally be offered for adoption.

Today, he is unfortunately one of the most fragile dogs in the shelter: if I ran out of kibble he would not be able to defend himself against his fellow dogs... He deserves a good life, I don't want him to die of hunger in the shelter..."

3. Due to a lack of space, 46 more dogs are housed by Georgina, a volunteer, in an improvised shelter. They too are threatened by the lack of kibble!

%%%

"Winter is coming, my dogs will need to have a full belly to face the negative temperatures! For two weeks now, I have been forced to divide by two the daily portions of the dogs...  If I continue like this, the dogs will become violent and uncontrollable! This is my biggest concern...

I am unhappy thinking that I will not have enough food to give them because without donations, I cannot do anything. My monthly income is so low that it wouldn't even cover a week's worth of food. I am alone, I need help to provide me with kibble and give the dogs a chance to survive!"

4. Weakened by her surgery, Nakita needs kibble to survive!

###

"I found Nakita on the highway with a broken paw, I don't know his story but considering his injury I guess he was hit by a car.... The accident must have been violent because it took two surgeries to try to repair his paw!

His paw is unfortunately not yet fully recovered, he walks mainly thanks to the other three, so his chances to stand on his own are very low. If I were to stop feeding him, he would have no chance of surviving..."

5. Maria dedicates all her time and income to save dogs from a certain death, but since the pandemic, the situation has worsened, she can not buy kibble.

###

"Today, the only volunteer at the shelter is my husband. He is my hero, the dogs' best playmate! While my husband helps with the construction and maintenance of the kennels, I take care of rescuing the dogs that are in danger of being euthanized at the pound, I look for donations, take the dogs to the vet...

We work all day, every day of the week, which is a lot of work for only two people! Our income barely covers our needs and those of our family. We cannot rely on our meager personal income to feed the dogs.

The needs of the shelter are numerous, it lacks space, boxes, blankets... But the current emergency is the lack of kibble: we can delay work, but we can't stop feeding the dogs because they will die!"

6. Maria is not asking for money, only kibbles to keep the dogs from starving.

###

"I love my dogs immensely, I don't understand how people can treat them like this. I work all day trying to cover all their needs. My biggest fear is running out of food for the dogs.

My husband and I want to finish the construction of the shelter and double its capacity, but in the meantime, food is a priority, because without food they have no chance to survive! I wish I didn't have to ask for help, to get by on my own, but I am unable to do so..."

7. If this campaign succeeds, Maria will not receive any money but 3000 kg of kibbles, delivered from Animal Webaction's logistic platform in Romania.

Animal Webaction has a logistics platform in Romania which enables us to intervene quickly and deliver kibbles.

8. Despite her many attempts to call for help, Maria is alone, she can only rely on this campaign to feed the dogs.

###

"Thanks to French associations that support us, we have managed to adopt 237 dogs this year! Unfortunately, these supporters are not able to help us to get kibble, I only function thanks to donations from individuals and to Animal Webaction who helps us to feed the dogs. Without them I don't know if I could manage...

As much as I post messages on social networks, the donations don't take off, especially since the pandemic which weakened the financial situation of many people...

I do everything I can, as soon as a solution is offered to me I seize it, but today I see no other, this collection of kibbles is my only hope to feed the dogs!"

10. In Romania, it is difficult to find funds for kibbles, there are no aid, no grants, no foundation... Many abandoned dogs die alone in the streets, in complete indifference...
