1. In Bosnia, Sandra will soon have no more kibble to feed the 96 dogs in her shelter. At the end of her strength, she begs us to help them!

"Unfortunately here in Bosnia, most people have no feelings for dogs and are not aware of the importance of sterilization. So many dogs and puppies are abandoned on a daily basis...It feels like a never-ending cycle.

There are constantly more dogs to be saved and although we do our best to give them love, put them back into shape and get them adopted, it is becoming increasingly difficult. The financial situation is too dire and adoptions have been very slow. With the high number of dogs under our care, food is definitely our number 1 problem, and the cost of food is everyday...

We've already had to reduce the dogs' portions due to shortages...It is extremely stressful, I'm constantly begging and asking for donations in  all possible ways to make sure the dogs have enough to eat... I can no longer do it alone, I need your help!"

2. The Bosnian winter is extremely rigorous, with temperatures dropping as low as - 20 degrees C°. The dogs need kibble to face this tough time ahead!

###

"Over the years, we have arranged a nice space for the dogs in our shelter, the yard is fenced, the enclosures are spacious. But no matter how satisfactory the living conditions are, the dogs still live outside, and are subjected to very harsh temperatures in winter.

Food is absolutely essential to keep the dogs warm and healthy but at the moment they're only getting one meal a day... This is highly insufficient, especially considering that most of our dogs are very large. Procurement of food is a huge problem... I would love to be able to increase their daily portions, it is a matter of survival for them..."

3. Abandoned as a puppy and left for dead, Lary has already known great suffering. Still vulnerable, he needs kibble to make it through the winter.

###

"We found Lary a couple of years back, on the way to the shelter. We found him along with his sister and mother on the roadside. They were all in terrible condition and the puppies had been hit by a car... Lary's sister died on the way to the vet station.

Lary survived but was unable to  stand on his hind legs and had a pelvic fracture on both sides. He was about a month and a half old at the time and weighed 1,5kg...

Lary went through a slow recovery, day after day. He is now better but unfortunately, nobody has ever shown interest in adopting him... People are afraid that his mobility problems will reoccur... He's probably going to stay with us for a long time and just like the other many vulnerable dogs here, he needs food to survive the winter!"

4. Sandra suffered a stress-induced heart attack last month... Fragilised and still recovering, she needs help providing for the dogs!

###

"We face a lot of difficulties everyday, from collecting food, treating animals, procuring straw for dogs... all of which require a lot of finances and generate a lot of stress. I recently had a lot of health problems and eventually suffered a stress-induced heart attack last month...

I am still in the process of recovering... but the dogs can't wait, they need to eat everyday. We can improvise building some fence or kennel without much funds, but it's not possible to buy food without money...

The number of dogs in need of help are always more numerous but we lack space and finances to help them all. We need your help feeding them!"

5. Sandra is not asking for money, only kibble to feed the dogs that depend on her.

###

"I have always had a great love for animals and I've been rescuing them for more than 10 years. From my love, a shelter was created in which close to 100 dogs live today. Everything that is here, the houses and conditions in shelter is the work of 2-3 animal lovers like myself...There is no cooperation with local authorities at all, nor is there any support from them.

Over the years, we had more than 3000 dogs adopted and we gained the approval and trust of a few people that now recommend our organisation. This fact makes me very happy, but the harsh truth is that for every adopted dog, there is always another one to take his place...

Our people have not yet developed awareness about sterilization, so the number of dogs in need never actually decreases. I am always afraid I will find someone abusing or harassing unprotected animals, I'm scared of  careless drivers who easily kill an animal without  remorse..."

6. If this campaign succeeds, Sandra will not receive any money but 1920 kg of kibble, delivered from Animal Webaction's logistic platform in Bosnia.

Animal Webaction has a logistic platform in Bosnia which allows us to intervene quickly and deliver kibble.

7. Despite the help of a few faithful supporters, Sandra does not receive enough donations for all the dogs. This campaign is crucial for them!

"The pandemic has created a big crisis in the world. The consequences for us are still being felt and will probably be felt for a longer time... Our organization has absolutely no funding, we rely 100% on private donations.

Although we can count on the support of a few faithful friends who donate whenever they can, their ability to help has also been impacted. We do not receive enough to provide for all the dogs in our care. We really need this campaign to succeed."

8. Campaigns launched on Animal Webaction often fail.
