Animal Webaction visited the site 02 November 2021 and confirms the situation described below.

1. In Morocco, Rokaya has run out of kibble for the 138 dogs at her shelter. They will starve if nobody intervenes!

%%%

"I do my best not to let my dogs go hungry, but for the past week, I have been forced to reduce their daily portions of kibble because my stock is completely empty! Today, I can only give them rice, and I have already noticed that their health has been impacted by this change...

Without kibble, their life is threatened, they may die. The problem is that I don't receive any more donations, no organization helps me to get kibble and my savings are dry...

I don't sleep anymore because I am worried about my dogs, what will happen to them if the situation continues like this? I really need help to feed them, this campaign is my last hope..."

2. The shelter welcomes many fragile dogs who will not survive the winter on an empty stomach!

###

"The life of wandering is very hard for the dogs of Morocco, they do not find food and the population is hostile to them. Many people who don't like dogs poison them or report them to the authorities who then carry out culling, even if the dog is not dangerous...

The number of stray animals never decreases and therefore the number of people taking in my shelter never decreases either. My shelter is full, the dogs I take in are vulnerable, like the 3 blind dogs and the 5 puppies that were recently dropped off at our doors.

I can't keep my head above water and with winter approaching, the temperatures have already started to drop. I can't imagine what would happen to them if the kibble shortage lasted... They wouldn't survive it!"

3. Because of her handicap, Laika depends on Rokaya to survive!

###

"When we found Laika on the side of the road, she had just been hit by a car... The poor girl was so injured that we had to amputate her back paws. She has a lot of difficulty to move since, she can't manage alone.

Laika is a nice dog, she is calm and reserved, she depends entirely on me for food, if I do not find a solution quickly, she will not survive."

4. The drop in donations following the pandemic has had a significant impact on the shelter's finances. Rokaya is in debt and has no money to buy kibble.

###

"Before the pandemic, we used to get visits from volunteers living abroad: they would bring us donations, adopt dogs or just come and help us run the shelter. But today, there are no more visits, only a few donations thanks to my publications on social networks.

I take care of the whole management of the shelter, I find food, water, I take the dogs to the vet, I manage the Facebook and Instagram pages of the association in which I post daily calls for help...

I finance the shelter thanks to the few donations but mostly thanks to my own savings, and this is not enough to finance the shelter, or to pay off the debts I have with the vet, the kibble supplier, the pharmacy... I can't buy kibble anymore!"

5. Rokaya is not asking for money, but for kibble to keep the dogs from starving.

###

"I created the association four years ago, I did not hesitate, even if I was aware of the difficulties that it would involve. My devotion to animals is total, I love to take care of them and find them a loving family. Today, my biggest fear is not to find kibble and to be forced to put the dogs on the street... It would be a real heartbreak.

I would like to have a shelter fully equipped with water and facilities, find a solid partnership with an organization and provide food to my animals without ever being afraid of running out. Unfortunately today I have to fight every day to get by...

I don't know what I would do without Animal Webaction, as it is a real support and a strong community that cares about the future of my dogs!"

6. If this campaign succeeds, Rokaya will not receive any money but 3000 kg of kibble, delivered from Animal Webaction's logistics platform in Morocco.

Animal Webaction has a logistic platform in Morocco which allows us to intervene quickly and deliver kibble throughout the country.

7. Rokaya has tried everything to get kibble: this campaign is her last hope!

"As I cannot rely on the donations I receive locally, I try to contact associations abroad, but without success. Since the pandemic, foreign associations have focused on helping animals in their own countries, and I can't find any help in Morocco.

Animal Webaction is the only real support I have, because food is one of the most expensive items at the shelter and I don't have any support there. I post a lot on social networks to alert about my situation, but the posts have very little impact, and the last big fundraisers I organized did not work...

I really need your help everyone, this kibble campaign is my last hope to save my dogs..."

8. Campaigns launched on Animal Webaction often fail.

When a campaign fails, Animal Webaction cannot deliver the products. The beneficiary doesn't receive anything and the buyers are refunded.

9. In Morocco, donors are scarce, and there are no foundations or subsidies. It is very difficult to find funding for kibble, many dogs remain starving in the street!
