Animal Webaction visited the site 07 November 2021 and confirms the situation described below.

1. In Morocco, Ibtissam is running out of kibble to feed the 127 dogs at her shelter. They will starve if no one intervenes!

%%%

"The number of dogs in my care is constantly increasing, for the simple reason that there are more and more abandonments and less and less adoptions... The dog population has grown in huge numbers since the containements. The places where there were dozens of dogs are now x4, the situation is simply catastrophic.

Each rescue makes me proud to put dogs to safety but also adds huge hardships for the shelter as donations are very very minimal and expenses keep increasing. The supply of kibble has become terribly complicated.

At the shelter, I have been forced to ration the kibble for more than 10 days, on the street, I had to abandon several areas... The dogs are not eating enough and if the situation lasts, they risk becoming weaker and dying of hunger... I am tired and I feel powerless, this situation consumes me from the inside. We need help to see the end of the tunnel."

2. Ibtissam's shelter is home to many sick and vulnerable dogs. They need kibble to survive!

###

"At the shelter, each dog has its own story, and its own set of problems. My dogs are here because they are sick, disabled or old and are unable to survive on the street alone. At the moment, I have dogs suffering from various parasitic diseases (Leishmaniasis, Ehrlichiosis), puppies with parvovirus...

Unfortunately the lack of kibble weakens them even more, they lose weight, have diarrhea, kidney problems...And with the cold weather coming, it will get even worse. My dogs won't be able to stand hunger for long...

Without this campaign, more and more dogs will get sick...I need kibble to keep them alive! Letting them starve is simply unthinkable."

3. Hit by a car and left for dead, Mahjoub is paralyzed and very weak. He needs kibble to regain his strength and hope to recover.

###

"Mahjoub is a young dog, he just arrived at the shelter. We found him on the road, after he had been hit by a car.

He is paralyzed, he does not bark, he does not do anything, he is very weak. He has various wounds on his body and a evere infection in his eye.

Mahjoub needs to gain strength urgently, if he does not eat properly he will not be able to recover..."

4. Declining donations, non-existent subsidies, debts... Ibtissam is exhausted and can no longer buy kibble.

###

"I have been trying  to change the situation of animals in Marrakech for years. I work like crazy, I pick up a lot of dogs, I neuter and spay... Animals are my life, but sometimes I feel that all my efforts are in vain because the situation takes a long time to move and the obstacles are omnipresent.

At the moment, the funding of the shelter is almost zero, we are terribly lacking in food, staff, medication, donations, volunteers... I have a lot of debts and the vets no longer want to hospitalize my dogs because I can't pay on time...

Even if I would like to be able to manage everything by myself, it is impossible, it is too difficult. I have exhausted my resources, my energy, my money, absolutely everything. In order to be able to do this, we all have to pitch in, whoever has a skill can share it with us, people who have nothing can just share our posts on Facebook...That's the only way we can hope to get through this and continue to save dogs."

5. Ibtissam isn't asking for money, only kibble to prevent the dogs from starving!

###

"I would like people to be more sensitive to the animal cause, for example if parents taught their children not to mistreat animals, it would already be a big step; but unfortunately old mentalities die hard..

The state doesn't do anything to make things change either, they don't even help me with the sterilization program that I started a long time ago. There are only associations and individuals involved in the field like me who act to preserve the balance of the canine population in the streets, helping protecting humans from rabies at the same time.

My actions are essential to the well-being of all. I just hope that in time, people will understand this and decide to help us."

6. If this campaign succeeds, Ibtissam will not receive any money but 3000 kg of kibble, delivered from the Animal Webaction logistic platform in Morocco.

Animal Webaction has a logistic platform in Morocco, which allows us to intervene quickly and deliver kibbles.

7. Efforts to publicize the shelter have not been successful, and calls for help have gone unanswered. Ibtissam does not know where to turn. This campaign is her last option.

"There are less and less donations, many people have financial problems and cannot help me anymore. I have tried to contact other organizations for help, but I have not had any response.

Locally I have some encouragement, recently there was a TV show about the shelter. After it aired, I received many messages from people congratulating me for my work but paradoxically this has not resulted in any help. I did not receive any donation, there was no volunteer work either. And since the address of the shelter has been revealed, I find myself with a lot of new dogs on my doorstep...

These are very difficult times, I hope with all my heart that the Animal Webaction community can help me because my dogs need it very badly."

8. Campaigns launched on Animal Webaction often fail

Liste des récoltes échouées

When a campaign fails, Animal Webaction cannot deliver the products. The beneficiary doesn't receive anything and the buyers are refunded.

9. In Morocco, donors are scarce, and there are no foundations or subsidies. It is very difficult to find funding for kibbles, many dogs remain starving on the street!
