1. His eyes were necrotizing...

Alfi is a 25-year-old horse, who was picked up by a lady. The poor guy's eyes were necrotic and he was very skinny. So he had to be operated to remove both eyes. The lady then entrusted him to us.

2. He has laminitis

When he arrived, we realised that Alfi had problems with laminitis (an inflammatory disease that affects his feet).

In order to prevent this from getting worse, we have to make sure that he doesn't eat too many carrots or food containing sugar.

3. He had a big colic!

Alfi also had a very bad colic and had to be rushed to the clinic. As his teeth are damaged, they no longer allow him to chew.

So we have to make sure that he gets his food wet, so that he doesn't get colic or a blockage again.

3. With pellets, he'll get his strength back before winter

Winter is approaching, and with it, very harsh temperatures for horses. Moistened pellets would be perfect to allow Alfi to get better without having colic. This will help him get through this period more calmly.

4. The number of rescues is increasing!

There is very little money coming in, but a lot of animals to take in. In two days, we have taken in no less than 6 horses! People don't have the means to manage their animals anymore...

Unfortunately, the donations are very sporadic and are far from enough to allow us to buy food for all our boarders.
