1. She keeps psychological after-effects of mistreatment...

Pimenta is a 27 year old mare that we took in because her owner could no longer afford to look after her. She used to do bullfights in Portugal.

When she left her stall, there were spikes to prevent her from going towards the other horses. As a result, Pimenta can't stand being in the stalls any more. She also had to be beaten when she was in Portugal, because she is very suspicious of men.

2. She is gradually losing her sight!

Pimenta had several uveitis, internal inflammations of the eye. Little by little, she starts to lose her sight...

3. She has tumours...

Pimenta has several masses that look like tumours. The vet is doing some tests to find out more.

4. With pellets, she would get her strength back before winter

Winter is coming, and with it, very harsh temperatures for horses. Pellets rich in vitamins would be perfect to help Pimenta get back in shape. She is already fragile and will get through this period more serenely.

5. 5. The number of animals rescued is increasing!

There is very little money coming in, but many animals to take in. In two days, we have taken in no less than 6 horses! People don't have the means to manage their animals anymore...

Unfortunately, the donations are very sporadic and are far from enough to allow us to buy food for all our residents.
