Overexploited, the poor Pitchounette was then left abandoned in a field!

1. She was overexploited as a brood mare...

Pitchounette is a 16 years old mare, that we took in 7 months ago. She is a former brood mare, who is suspected to have been overexploited.

From her condition, the vet estimates that she has had many foals, and that she started having them at a very young age.

2. She was abandoned!

After being used to make foals, poor Pitchounette was abandoned in a meadow. Fortunately we were able to get her out of there!

3. Pellets would allow her to regain her strength before the winter

After all that she has been through, there is no way we would let Pitchounette down! With vitamin-rich pellets, she could regain her energy. She would then regain her strength before winter, a difficult period for equines.

4. Equines in need are counting on us!

The volunteers are few and our financial means are very limited. These facts considerably reduce our field of action! But the horses are counting on us: most of them are old and need care and supplementation.
