Animal Webaction visited the site 20 November 2021 and confirms the situation described below.

1. In Morocco, Hind has run out of kibble to feed the 200 street dogs that depend on her for survival. They will starve to death if nobody helps them!

%%%

"The number of abandoned animals has skyrocketed in the area, to the point that I can't take in any more dogs because all the stalls at the shelter are full. The increase in abandonment is always noticed after school starts, because parents buy their children dogs during the summer, and get rid of them when school starts. We find ourselves obliged to take care of these dogs, to sterilize them, to vaccinate them... it is an additional cost for the association which is itself in crisis!

If I don't feed the abandoned dogs, they live in the garbage and waste, they catch infections and transmit them to the other dogs. Currently, there are two dogs with scabies on the street that we still haven't been able to catch because they are very shy. We are doing our best to take care of all of them but the last months of the year are the most difficult, we receive less donations and we have to pay our debts before the next year to avoid accumulating them...

Today we have no kibble at all, we prepare rice pots and chicken carcasses, which takes time and money, and it is not a consistent meal for the dogs. I really need this campaign to succeed to feed the 200 street dogs it's our only hope, our small cash flow will never be enough to buy kibble for that many dogs."

2. Weakened by scabies, Louka will die in the streets if he does not eat kibble.

###

"Louka has just been abandoned next to the shelter. He suffers from scabies, he is really not well, and without kibble his condition is likely to get worse! He is so afraid of humans that he doesn't even let us take care of him... A good quality food is necessary for Louka to regain his strength, because I am afraid that his condition will get worse or that he will catch other infections if he does not eat properly. His life depends on the success of this harvest!"

3. Hind also welcomes 110 dogs in her shelters, without kibble they are in danger!

%%%

"The dogs I have at the shelter are very fragile dogs that need special attention until they regain their strength and I can release them back onto the street. Those who live at the farm, on the other hand, cannot be released because they have either become accustomed to life at the shelter and would not be independent enough to fend for themselves, they depend on us.

Nowadays, as there is no more kibble to feed them, the dogs fight among themselves, the strongest one eats the bowl of the weakest one... The dogs are prostrate, less happy. Their behavior changes when they don't eat kibble.

I fear that my dogs are getting worse because of the lack of kibble. I wish with all my heart that people with a big heart feel the suffering that we endure to ensure the continuity of our association and help us by participating in this campaign. You are our only hope!"

4. The mistreatment Slougui has suffered has weakened him, he needs food to survive.

###

"I rescued Slougui over a year ago, he was from the velodrome. When the velodrome closed its doors, Slougui suffered a lot of abuse in the streets.

Since then, he has kept some after-effects: he is very thin, he has a lot of difficulties to walk and he can't stand up very long. He is so calm that he can't defend himself against the dominant dogs, I isolated him so that he can be quiet and that the other dogs don't steal his bowl. Slougui's health is so fragile that his condition is likely to worsen if he doesn't eat kibble soon..."

5. Deprived of donations since the beginning of the pandemic, Hind is over-indebted and overwhelmed by the needs of the dogs, she can no longer buy food.

###

"Before the pandemic, some restaurants agreed to give me their leftovers so that I could feed the dogs, but unfortunately, since the crisis, we are no longer allowed to do so... My shelter has lost more than 75% of its resources: there has been a sharp drop in donations, even though they are the only income of the association, and there are more and more abandonments and fewer and fewer adoptions.

We have the salaries of six employees to pay, an ambulance driver, a permanent agent at the convalescent center, a person at the cattery, and three dog catchers for each operation to capture the dogs to sterilize and vaccinate them. We have succeeded in stopping the slaughter in 5 communes of the greater Casablanca area and we have signed 4 partnership agreements with the municipalities.

Today, the coffers are empty and we must continue to take care of all these dogs... We need your help more than ever to provide us with kibble."

6. Hind is not asking to receive money, only kibble to prevent the dogs from starving.

###

"Passionate about animals since my childhood and very attached to their well-being, I took the decision a few years ago to open a convalescence center based on the TNVR (Trap-Neuter-Vaccinate-Return). Our center is the first convalescent center in Morocco that meets the recommendations of the WHO and aims to eradicate rabies, hydatid cysts and control dog overpopulation. My greatest pride is that we have succeeded in stopping the slaughter of street dogs once and for all!

Today, I feel a great sorrow, my association protects stray dogs from abuse and misery but I can't do it alone anymore. We have knocked on every possible door, without success. If Animal webaction doesn't help us, no one can!"

7. If this campaign succeeds, Hind will not receive any money but 2500 kg of kibble, delivered from Animal Webaction's logistic platform in Morocco.

Animal Webaction has a logistic platform in Morocco, which allows us to intervene quickly and deliver kibbles.

8. Appeals for donations don't work, Hind has to use her own money to meet the needs of the dogs, but she is at the end of her means...

"Debt has become our means of financing to be able to advance in our actions, but we are in a vicious circle. The kitchens are almost not working anymore, our cash flow is not enough, so I am forced to pay the bills with my own money!

Unfortunately, I can't find any partners abroad who deliver kibbles in Morocco, and in our country, animal protection associations are almost non-existent: Animal Webaction is our only chance to feed the dogs!"

9. Campaigns launched on Animal Webaction often fail.

Liste des récoltes échouées

When a campaign fails, Animal Webaction cannot deliver the products. The beneficiary doesn't receive anything and the buyers are refunded.

10. In Morocco, donors are rare, and there are no foundations or subsidies… It is very difficult to find funding for kibble, many cats are left starving in the street!
