1. He was in very bad shape when we took him in...

Lucifer is a rather old cat, that we have been feeding in our garden for two years. Last year he came in with a pierced abscess in one cheek and an ear infection in both ears. So we trapped him and took him to the vet for treatment...

2. A disease is slowly destroying his immune system

During the veterinary visit, it turned out that Lucifer had feline AIDS (FIV positive). This means that the immune system of his body is no longer efficient and he is less protected against viruses and infections.

3. He had to be hospitalized because he was so sick!

This summer, Lucifer had to be hospitalized for 10 days because he was so sick. Because of a virus, his throat was inflamed and he couldn't eat.

So he had to be put on a stomach tube to help him. Since then, he's been doing a little better, but he's still suffering from rhinitis and conjunctivitis...

4. Adapted canned food would help him to gain weight

To keep his strength up despite all the hardships he's been through, Lucifer will need a protein-rich diet. With easy-to-ingest canned food, he could fill up on energy every day to keep him going.

5. Very recent, our association does not benefit from any help!

Most of the cats we take in charge are sick. Some are under treatment for life, and will never be adopted...

We have to manage everything alone financially, because our association is recent and we have no help. With more than 6 000 euros of veterinary expenses for this year, we can't face it alone !
