Animal Webaction visited the site 25 December 2021 and confirms the situation described below.

1. In Morocco, Hajar will soon be out of kibble for the 80 street cats who depend on her, they will starve if no one intervenes!

"Street cats suffer from hunger and low temperatures during the winter; they live in the dirt, scavenge and the only places they have to protect themselves from the rain are the hoods of cars.

They are mistreated by the population all the time. Some people even forbid me to give them food...  I feel sorry for these cats, I feel helpless and I have a lot of difficulties to buy kibbles because of their great number.

My lack of resources has forced me to ration the kibble for more than 2 weeks. Today I only have half a bag left... I can't keep up. Cats can endure difficult living conditions, but they can't survive the lack of food... We need help!

2. Pearl's disease has stopped her growth. Her immune defenses are at their lowest, she needs kibble to get through it!

###

"Pearl is a one-year-old female, she was born on the street. She is very small for her age because she suffers from a heart disease and an instestinal disease, giardia. She has diarrhea constantly and her growth has been stopped.

Unfortunately, I can't take her in until she recovers from giardia because she could contaminate all the cats in the shelter...

To recover, she needs to take vitamins and proteins to strengthen her immunity. Treatment alone won't be enough, she needs kibble!"

3. Hajar's shelter is currently home to 50 cats, who are also threatened by the lack of kibble.

"Both on the street and at the shelter, the number of cats in my care is huge. People see that the cats are treated well with me, so they come to abandon their own cats in front of my door...

I have too many cats and not enough money to feed and care for them because of the drop in donations linked with the health crisis. The cats don't eat enough, I tried to give them leftover sardines but it's not good for their health, they have diarrhea and get weak.

If I don't have enough money to buy kibble, I'm afraid that my fragile cats will get worse or that the other cats will get sick, that's what scares me the most. I honestly don't know how I'm going to manage to get kibble for them if this campaign doesn't work..."

4. At only 2 months old, Tabacco is suffering from ringworm and coryza. She is very weak and needs kibble to grow and recover.

###

"Tabacco is a 2-month-old male, he has been at the shelter for half his short life... He was abandoned in Salé in a cardboard box. He is very thin, suffers from extensive ringworm and coryza.

I am very afraid for Tabacco, I fear he will catch new infections or that he will lose weight because of the lack of food. His health is very fragile, a good diet is essential for his survival."

5. Indebted, overwhelmed by the drop in donations and the growing number of cats in distress, Hajar can no longer buy kibble.

###

"I have two/three donors who help me from time to time with kibble and spay/neuter, but most of the time I am the one paying the pet store and vet bills. I even have to sell my own items to get by...

Despite the lack of resources, I can't let a cat suffer alone in the street, I am the first to move if I see a cat in distress. However the lack of donations, the increasing number of sick kittens and cats only increase the bills that I am no longer able to pay.

I have debts to the veterinarian to be able to give care and sterilize the newly abandoned cats. I also have debts to the pet store, the pharmacy... I am in a financial bind; I need you now more than ever."

6. Hajar isn't asking for money, only kibble to prevent the cats from starving.

###

"My passion for pets drove me to open the doors of my small shelter to help them live long, happy and healthy lives. I quit my job in a hair salon for them, I sacrifice all my time and money. Their well-being is my top priority and a responsibility I do not take lightly.

My actions are indispensable because I am the only one who takes care of these cats in my neighborhood, I help them by offering them the necessary care, and by seeing to their sterilization and castration to limit their proliferation.

Unfortunately, I can no longer cope with this situation alone because the expenses related to rescues are increasing day by day. Without outside help, it will soon be impossible for me to take care of everything. It is important that people help me so that I can continue my actions."

7. If this campaign is successful, Hajar will not receive any money but 1000 kg of kibble, delivered from Animal Webaction's logistics platform in Morocco.

Animal Webaction has a logistical platform in Morocco, which allows us to intervene quickly and deliver kibble.

8. Hajar's supporters have already done their utmost, she doesn't know how to get kibble without this campaign!

"I've tried everything: pledges, Facebook alerts.... Nothing works. I launched a fundraising 4 months ago, a small amount has already been collected, but it has not reached the goal and it is still insufficient given the number of cats in need.

The few donors who help me are also impacted by the pandemic and cannot help me as regularly as before. Today, we can only rely on Animal Webaction and the generosity of their donors to help cats and kittens have a better life."

9. Campaigns launched on Animal Webaction often fail.

Liste des récoltes échouées

When a campaign fails, Animal Webaction cannot deliver the collected products, the beneficiary receives nothing and the buyers get a refund...

10. In Morocco, donors are scarce, and there are no foundations or subsidies . It is very difficult to find funding for kibbles, many cats remain starving in the street!
