1. In North Macedonia, Marija will soon run out of kibble to feed the 96 dogs in her shelter. They will starve if no one helps!

###

"There are currently 96 dogs at the shelte and their number is constantly increasing because there are unfortunately many owners who abandon their pets on a daily basis. Every morning, I hope not to find new dogs or puppies in the streets, but sadly, it happens all the time...

We try to find resources for each dog, but ever since the pandemic and more recently the vacations, we are getting less and less donations, it's difficult and we are sorely lacking in kibble. The dogs struggle to remain warm, even with kennels and blankets...

I'm really worried, I'm always fighting for my dogs and I'll never stop, but if I can't feed them, it will be catastrophic! Food is their most basic and important need..."

2. Marija's shelter welcomes many dogs already diminished by injury, illness or disability. Without food, they will not survive the winter!

###

"Most of the dogs that are at the shelter were in critical conditions when we took them in. Some of them are still very sick. They need good healthy food in the right quantities to recover and regain their strength.

Unfortunately, our current lack of resources prevents us from giving them what they need. Dogs are eating poor quality kibble, which makes them even more fragile and worsens their health condition. Some have developed stomach and intestinal problems as a result of this diet.

We desperately need this campaign to work... I could not bear to see my dogs weaken or starve to death because we no longer have enough to feed them. No one else cares about these dogs, we are all they have... We can't let them down."

3. Only 8 months old, hit by a car and suffering from multiple fractures, Kole needs kibble to be able to recover.

###

"Kole is about 8 months old. We took him in at the shelter in early January, we found him on the street with broken legs after being hit by a car.

His bones are broken in 10 different places... He is currently receiving medical treatment but he is still shocked and recovering slowly.

He is constantly shaking, unable to warm up. He needs kibble to be able to get better... He won't be able to recover without it."

4. The pandemic has greatly slowed down donations, debts are piling up... Marija can no longer buy kibble for the dogs!

###

"Donations are unstable overall and it is not always clear what they depend on, as they are based on the good will of our supporters. And whenever we do get funds, we usually have to spend those on essential medicine and medical examinations for dogs at risk and dogs with typical illnesses such as leishmaniasis and demodex.

Keeping the dogs healthy costs a lot of money... we have huge debts at several vet stations. We've also had to borrow money for food and our bills are not paid yet... To make matters worse, our rent has doubled and we have no money to pay it either.

We desperately need this campaign to succeed, it's the only way to get out of this crisis and make our survival in the shelter easier, at least for a while."

5. Marija isn't asking for money, only kibble to prevent the dogs from starving.

###

"I started volunteering at the shelter years ago. At the time, I was only coming here to bring food and blankets for the dogs. I started getting 100% involved last June. There's only 2 of us at the shelter nowadays, it's difficult caring for so many dogs by ourselves, but we do the best we can.

If not for this shelter, Veles would be full of hungry and ill dogs... at least we are here to try and spay as many dogs as we can, save them from hunger, and death. I'm really proud of myself every time we cure some wild abandoned dog, make him healthy and friendly again, socialize him, and eventually he gets adopted - that's the most inspiring thing that can happen!

I just hope that we will finally get more support, starting with volunteers to help us with feeding, transport, cleaning... And more space so we can extend the shelter and keep every dog under our care safe, warm and fed."

6. If this campaign succeeds, Marija will not receive any money but 2400 kg of kibbles, delivered from Animal Webaction's logistics platform in Macedonia.

Animal Webaction has a logistics centre in Macedonia which enables us to intervene quickly and deliver kibbles.

7. Appeals for donations aren't working, the association's loyal supporters are already doing their utmost. Marija is counting on this campaign!

"Any time we need anything - food, blankets, meds, we make a post on our official page, and hope for donations. We get support mostly from private individuals, but lately we have had a drop in donations, which leaves us in a very precarious situation, unable to solve the issue of our unpaid bills and unable to order the next food supply...

We tried many times to ask the municipality for help, they are aware of our problem with lack of food, space, bills and rent...but they ignore us. I feel scared for my dogs when I realize there is virtually no chance of getting more donations this month... Our only option is this campaign!"

8. Campaigns launched on Animal Webaction often fail.

When a campaign fails, Animal Webaction cannot deliver the products. The beneficiary doesn't receive anything and the buyers are refunded.

9. In Macedonia, neither the state nor the population wants to help the abandoned dogs. A lot of animals are left to die outside, there is no care for them.

If you know of a foundation or NGO that could help the association, please invite them to contact us so that we can put them in touch.

If you represent a Foundation or NGO for animal protection, please help the dogs of Animal's Voice Macedonia, contact us and we will put you in touch!

If you want to come to the association's shelter to help the volunteers or if you want to send them directly some kibbles or a check, contact them via the association's Facebook page (note: direct help is under your own responsibility).
