1. In Serbia, Zvezdana has almost no kibble left to feed the 100 street dogs that rely on her. They will starve if nobody intervenes!
"Street dogs face a lot of trauma and abuse on a daily basis, many people are unfriendly to them, some are even violent... At best, people ignore them and the ones willing to help are very rare. In the entire city of Negotin, only 5 people (myself included) are willing to take action to help these dogs...
Right now there are between 100-150 dogs spread in different areas of the city who need to eat on a daily basis. I am responsible for them all but I am running out of kibble fast, I only have 3 bags left at this stage, which is far from enough to feed so many dogs.
It’s a really heavy burden when you don’t have more food to give and the dogs wait and expect it from you... I really hope this campaign will work, especially as the dogs need good food to stay healthy and face the winter..."
2. Zvezdana's shelter is home to 49 especially vulnerable dogs who are no longer eating their fill. Without kibble, many of them will not survive.
"The number of dogs at the shelter fluctuates but one thing never changes : as soon as dogs leave for adoption, new dogs are here to take their place... I get calls regarding dogs in distress all the time, it never stops.
The dogs that are living at the shelter are the most vulnerable ones, those who couldn't handle living on the streets on their own. I try to my best to provide them with good living conditions, I take everything I can to keep them a bit warmer and protect them from the wind and snow : they have dog houses, various blankets, old carpets...
The big issue is that I've already had to start reducing the frequency of their meals due to the lack of food, they only eat once a day at the moment...I can’t even think of the possibility that this campaign doesn’t work, it has to. It's the only way that my dogs be safe and well fed for a few months."
3. Thrown out on the street by her owners, Beba is old and vulnerable. She won't survive if Zvezdana can no longer feed her.
"Beba is a small Pekingese dog, she was abandoned by her owners when she was already very old. She is vulnerable and lacks teeth, she can only eat good quality kibble mixed with water.
I am especially emotionally attached to Beba because she was once someone's pet, has known the comfort of a home and then was left by her owners at an old age... It just breaks my heart. After all she's been through, she deserves to live in dignity and have a full belly this winter."
4. Dogs in need are always more numerous but Zvezdana is stuck due to her lack of resources. Indebted, she can't buy kibble!
"I ask for donations on my Facebook page for vet bills, kibble etc. I also have donation boxes in two areas of the city. These initiatives are my main sources of donations, but unfortunately, the help I manage to gather through this is not enough.
Here in Serbia the crisis is everywhere and donations are getting lower and lower... People simply don’t have money to give for strays. I am indebted and the bills (water, electricity) during the winter months are even higher than usual.
I am really counting on this campaign to help me continue feeding the dogs. There are so many dogs on the streets and in the shelter.... They need you!"
5. Zvezdana isn't asking for money, only kibble to prevent the dogs from starving.
""Saving a dog's life when almost everyone else has rejected it before is an amazing feeling. I'm very proud to say that in over 10 years, I've managed to save hundreds of injured animals. I truly care about these dogs and I’m doing my best to change their lives for the better : I’m fighting for them in every way, including in court.
Irresponsible pet ownership is a real problem in our country, people take animals and just leave them on the streets at the slightest contrariety. Thankfully, we've finally been able to set up a massive vaccination, sterilization and chipping project with the municipality.
I have chosen vets and everything is ready, we will soon be able to go from door to door to sterilize people's pets and teach them about responsible ownership. Once their pets are chipped, they won't be able to get away with abandoning them so easily..."
6. If this campaign succeeds, Zvezdana will not receive any money but 2000 kg of kibble, delivered from Animal Webaction's logistics platform in Serbia.

7. Zvezdana's calls for help are not working, she doesn't know how to get help and is counting on our support.
"I call for help on social medias, but I haven't been able to reach out to other organisations recently, all my time is dedicated to the 24/7 care of the dogs, I don't even know where to start anymore.
With the donations constantly dropping and the number of stray dogs increasing, I will be put in a very difficult situation if I fail to find food. I hope this campaign will work and that dogs will have enough to eat."
8. Campaigns launched on Animal Webaction often fail.
