1. In Serbia, Vesna is running out of kibble for the 500 dogs in her shelter. They will starve if nobody helps!
"We have 500 souls at the shelter and every day new puppies are left outside our doors. In addition to the abandonments and huge vet bills, the lack of kibble is our main problem; our stock is currently at zero. At the moment, I can't even ration the dogs because we have nothing left...
Some people help us from time to time but it's far from enough for the number of dogs we have, the situation we are in is really not easy. I do everything I can, but all alone, I can't really change things. At this point, I don't know who to call or beg...
My dogs are starving and I can't eat either... I am desperate, it keeps me up at night. Animal Webaction has already saved our lives several times and I really hope that this campaign will work again... I won't be able to bear seeing my dogs starve."
2. Dogs are already getting thinner, the most fragile ones will not be able to endure the lack of kibble.
"The current lack of kibble has serious consequences on the dogs' health, they become weaker, get sick, lose weight and their hair. Their immune system is at its lowest and it creates tensions, they are more and more aggressive towards each other.
I don't know what to say or think anymore, I am so desperate because of the difficulties on all sides. Here in Draževac, the situation of animals is complicated and humiliating, people are cruel to them. In my shelter there are dogs that are sick, disabled, injured, blind etc...
My shelter is the only place where they can be fed, cared for and treated well but without kibble, all my efforts are in vain! I feel helpless. This campaign is my only hope to feed the dogs so they can survive the harsh Serbian winter."
3. Amputated of her legs and suffering from a tumor, Mica will not survive if Vesna can no longer feed her.
"Mica is about 8 years old. She has been in the shelter for a few years. She was injured in a flood in Obrenovac, both her legs had to be amputated.
In addition to being left without her two front legs, she also has a tumor and particularly needs kibbles to regain strength and be able to fight her disease. In spite of all her problems, our little Mica is animated and has the desire to live!
We can't let her immune system weaken even more because of the lack of kibble..."
4. Donations are dropping, veterinary bills are exploding... Vesna is in debt and can't buy any more kibble.
"I feel there has been a small change since the last campaign: for a few months life had become easier thanks to the kibble we received. Unfortunately, the few donations we receive otherwise do not allow us to survive on the long term.
Debts are piling up: I still owe 1500 euros to the vet, for last year's treatments! Everyone is scared since COVID: people's future, work and lives in general are uncertain. So of course, animals are far from being people's priority... .
The Serbian government doesn't help us either, it is very difficult to establish partnerships for animals in our country. I admit that I do not expect much help from anyone... "
5. Vesna is not asking for money, only kibbles to keep the dogs from starvation.
"I could never bear to see helpless, hungry and lonely dogs in the streets; this is what motivated my choice to open the shelter many years ago. This shelter and my dogs mean everything to me, I devote 100% of my time and love to them. Some people think I'm crazy for being so committed, but the truth is : they are my best friends and helping them is my life's calling.
Sometimes I feel that my actions are just a drop in the ocean; but I know I am making a real difference for the 500 dogs under my roof. I will fight for them until I die. I also keep hoping that a better future is possible, a future where I will have enough money for all their needs. I appreciate any help I can get to achieve this goal."
6. If this campaign succeeds, Vesna will not receive any money, but 2000 kg of kibble, delivered from the Animal Webaction logistics centre in Serbia.

7. Vesna's calls for donations are not working, this campaign is her last hope to feed the dogs.
“Fundraising is our only hope of survival because here neither the local community or the government gives us anything. I am trying to post on Facebook as much I can, but in all honesty, I'm old, it's complicated for me to be very effective on things linked to technology.
Receiving donations not only allows us to continue our actions but it also boosts our morale. With all the problems we go through, it always feels good to realize that someone, somewhere, cares about animals... I really hope that people who see this campaign can help us."
