1. She lived locked up in the dark!

Séléna is an 11 years old dog, who passed from hand to hand. This summer, she was seized for mistreatment: she was always locked up in a garage, without seeing the light of day!

2. Insufficient food caused her to lose weight and develop a liver problem

Fed only twice a week, Selena was skeletal when she arrived. Her liver was impacted by this lack of nutrition: at the beginning, Selena was vomiting as soon as she ate!

3. She has a cancer and had to be operated...

Unfortunately, Selena has a skin cancer (melanosarcoma). She was operated not long ago, of a big mass at the level of the paw. But according to the veterinarian, the tumor will come back...

4. Canned food would allow her to continue to gain weight

With nutrient-rich canned food, Selena could continue to gain weight. It would be an opportunity for her to get her energy back, so she could be in good shape despite the risk of her cancer coming back.

5. Taking care of elderly animals is very expensive...

We take care of 107 dogs and 26 cats. Many of the animals we take in come from abroad, from the street or from individuals. There are many requests, but we give priority to sick and elderly animals.

Most of them have suffered all their lives... so we want to bring them comfort and allow them to eat their fill. But all this has a cost: 50 000 euros of veterinary expenses last year alone!
