Animal Webaction visited the site 12 February 2022 and confirms the situation described below.

1. In Morocco, Hanane is running out of kibble to feed the 173 dogs at her shelter. They will starve if no one intervenes!

"We are in the middle of a crisis: the situation of the shelter is catastrophic. While the number of dogs continues to increase, adoptions are on hold, and our bank account is completely empty. Currently, we finance the majority of our expenses on credit... We need donations because they are our only way to continue to feed and take care of the dogs!

Food supply is a serious problem, and the difficulty to find kibble worries me terribly. I have nightmares because I can't stop thinking about my dogs and I am afraid that they will lose too much weight or get diseases if I don't find a quick solution to give them kibble.

Kibble is the best food for their health and recovery. Currently, I only have a few bags left, and this stock will only last a few days. This campaign is my only hope because there is no one else to help us buy it."

2. Hanane's dogs are nervous because of the lack of kibble, others who are more fragile, are getting sick... This campaign is vital for their survival!

###

“The consequences of the lack of kibble are disastrous for the health of the dogs and the organization of the shelter. The fights between the dogs are expanding because of the lack of food: each dog tries to dominate and steal the bowl of the other.

In addition, because the dogs do not eat well, they have become very thin, their skeletal bodies look terrible... They are fragile and hungry, they get infections more frequently, some have even had urinary  infections due to the poor quality food.

If the situation continues to deteriorate, I will be torn as I will surely be forced to release the healthy dogs to the streets and keep only the fragile ones at the shelter. It is vital that this campaign works so my dogs have a chance to survive!"

3. Affected by scabies and paralyzed, Rombo 3 years old, miraculously escaped death... Still very weak, he will not survive without kibble.

###

“Rombo is a street dog who arrived at the shelter two weeks ago after being hit by a tanker. He is completely immobile and does not move because his two back legs are paralyzed and he also suffers from scabies.

Already very fragile, I fear that he will lose even more weight or catch other infections... Rombo will surely not be able to survive without kibble as he desperately needs to eat well and take vitamins to build up his immunity and regain his strength!"

4. Alone, Hanane struggles to maintain her shelter but with donations and adoptions on hold, she can no longer buy kibble.

###

“This crisis has broken us! I have huge debts, we pay on credit the care and medicines at the vet, the water and electricity bills, and we have not yet been able to pay our two guardians... We need donations because the bank account of the association is completely empty.

We recently moved to a new shelter. The dogs feel better here because there is more space, the problem is that this place still needs a lot of work that we can't afford to do. Right now, the most important thing is the survival of my dogs and I don't even have the funds to buy kibble...

We were hoping to get a grant but I still haven't received any answer. I hope this crisis will end soon so that the dogs' lives at the shelter can go back to better conditions... In the meantime, we need this campaign to succeed because it is our only hope!"

5. Hanane isn't asking for money, only kibble to prevent the dogs from starving!

###

“I have been working for more than 10 years to give a better life to the dogs in this area. My shelter takes care of abandoned dogs and stray dogs in general, but also dogs from the pound, I welcome them in my shelter and offer them the necessary care, I also look for a family to adopt them. I can not leave any dog in distress suffer alone in the streets... Every dog deserves to have a good life.

Unfortunately, with the crisis, donations have become really rare and I receive no grants or state aid. I have sacrificed all my energy, time, work, and spent all my money to save my shelter from bankruptcy. We need support now more than ever because we depend entirely on donations, it is impossible for us to maintain the shelter without them. Without support, our shelter is worth absolutely nothing..."

6. If this campaign succeeds, Hanane will not receive any money but 2500 kg of kibble, delivered from the Animal Webaction logistic platform in Morocco.

Animal Webaction has a logistic platform in Morocco, which allows us to intervene quickly and deliver kibbles.

7. In spite of all her efforts, Hanane does not receive enough donations or kibble, this campaign must work!

“Online calls for help remain without result, even if I often post on my Facebook page in the hope of finding new donors. I am in the middle of a crisis, I don't work anymore so I don't have a salary to finance my shelter, I devote all my time to the shelter, I knocked on all the doors, I don't receive any help.

I tried to contact organizations abroad but apart from Animal Webaction, none of them delivers kibble to Morocco. Only the association Animaux en Péril helps me a little with a sterilization per trimester, but it is not enough either.

I really need this campaign to work, it is our only hope to keep going and provide my dogs with good quality food and better living conditions.”

8. Campaigns launched on Animal Webaction often fail

When a campaign fails, Animal Webaction cannot deliver the products. The beneficiary doesn't receive anything and the buyers are refunded.

9. In Morocco, donors are scarce, and there are no foundations or subsidies. It is very difficult to find funding for kibbles, many dogs remain starving on the street!
