Animal Webaction visited the site 09 March 2022 and confirms the situation described below.

1. In Romania, Alina will soon run out of kibble to feed the 330 dogs at their shelter, if no one intervenes, they will starve!

%%%

"We started to give less kibble to our 330 dogs since the beginning of the war in Ukraine, when prices started to be impacted: today, we have nothing left in stock, we have to buy kibble day by day. Unfortunately, with the drop in donations, this situation cannot last, we will soon not be able to afford to buy any more...

The constant increase in the price of kibble and the debts we have with various vets that we have to pay urgently are forcing us to reduce the daily portion of food in order to have it available for longer... Our more fragile dogs feel it quickly and develop health problems much more quickly.

By rationing our dogs, they will fight, sometimes seriously injure themselves, or become weak and ill... As I take in many dogs already weakened by a painful past, I am very afraid they will not have the strength to survive on an empty stomach! I feel stressed and helpless because I know that the dogs' lives depend mostly on people's goodwill and donations. This kibble campaign is necessary for the survival of the dogs in the shelter!"

2. Without kibble, Alina will no longer be able to save stray dogs: they will be condemned to die in the street or killed at the pound!

###

"Unfortunately, many unsterilised dogs continue to be abandoned on the streets, they reproduce and perpetuate the problem which becomes endless... Some are hunted, some are beaten or poisoned, others are condemned to die for lack of food and exposed to the dangers of being hit by cars or attacked by wild animals.

When the dogs manage to survive on the street, they are eventually caught by the pound, have to live for 14 days in deplorable conditions in morbid enclosures before finally being euthanised... No chance is given to these stray dogs to live in a loving family, that's why I fight every day for them, so they can have a better life.

Unfortunately, in the last few months, I have had to refuse rescues due to lack of funds... The difficulties linked to the pandemic were beginning to fade gradually, but then those linked to the war in Ukraine appeared: more and more dogs in the streets, prices of raw materials increasing, and my wallet getting emptier... I need this campaign to succeed to feed all my dogs and continue to save others from the hell of the streets!"

3. Grey's cancer has terribly weakened her: without kibble, she won't survive...

###

"When I rescued Grey, she had a huge mammary tumour hanging from her abdomen! I immediately took her to the vet for emergency surgery. We remain very vigilant and have to do regular tests to avoid a recurrence which would be fatal...

Her health depends on the food she receives every day, the nutrients and vitamins she gets from her diet. A lack of kibble could quickly damage her condition, as her immune system is extremely fragile. I'm afraid she won't survive if this kibble campaign fails!"

4. Donations to the association have dropped and the war in Ukraine is already having an impact on the price of raw materials: kibbles are too expensive for Alina!

###

"As there are no volunteers who come to help me at the shelter, I am forced to pay employees who mainly take care of feeding the dogs and cleaning the boxes where they live on a daily basis. Fortunately my mother Anda lives at the shelter, she helps me a lot in taking care of the dogs, and it is thanks to her that I have chosen to dedicate my life to rescuing animals in distress!

As we have a lot of debts with the veterinary clinics and our activity is hampered by the daily increase in the price of fuel, food, including that of the dogs, we are at a low point. We are receiving less and less donations: we have rarely experienced such a dark period and we are very afraid of the future."

5. Alina is not asking for money, only kibble to keep the dogs from starving.

###

"Rescuing animals in distress has been part of my life since I was a child. The first animals were rescued by my mother when I was 7 years old. My whole life and my mother's life have been dedicated to this, and I don't say it with regret, but with pride! I know that we have worked together and helped hundreds, if not thousands of animals to be rescued and to have a home of their own.

At the moment, my fears are about the war in Ukraine and the resulting exodus, the large number of abandoned animals that have entered Romania and may never be reunited with their owners... However, I still hope that everything will get better and that the animals will have a better future, so I will continue to save as many animals as possible while sterilising those on the streets as much as possible.

I feel very proud when I see the pictures of the rescued animals in their new homes, in their families, and how happy they are at last! This is why I will never give up..."

6. If this campaign succeeds, Alina will not receive any money but 3600 kg of kibble, delivered from Animal Webaction's logistics platform in Romania.

Animal Webaction has a logistics platform in Romania which enables us to intervene quickly and deliver kibble.

7. Alina is over-indebted and her few supporters have already done their utmost: this campaign is her only hope of getting kibble!

"The donations I receive come only from abroad. "Refuge d'Alina et Anda: Sabine adoptions chiens de Roumanie" and "Association Celestia" are the 2 groups that were created by French and Belgian volunteers, they are very dedicated and their help is precious to us!

From France and Belgium, they have made many calls for help lately, but the donors remain the same, their efforts have no more the expected effect... The world is in a bad way, people are afraid and we can't find new donors!

The action of any association, whatever its profile, is based on voluntary work, it is vital in such an activity that people help each other so that the dynamic works and changes things: each action, each donation, each help offered contributes to the sustainability of the association and its actions. Without help, we are nothing, and the dogs are doomed..."

8. Campaigns launched on Animal Webaction often fail.

Liste des récoltes échouées

When a campaign fails, Animal Webaction cannot deliver the products. The beneficiary doesn't receive anything and the buyers are refunded.

9. In Romania, it is difficult to find funds for kibble, there are no grants, no foundations... Many abandoned dogs die alone in the streets, in complete indifference...
