Animal Webaction
This campaign has failed... SOS 149 dogs Morocco hasn't received anything. Why?

It is always a huge disappointment to see a campaign fail, it means that the concerned animals will not receive any help. Unfortunately, we can not ship incomplete campaigns.

When a campaign fails, why can't you at least deliver what has been collected ?

We want to maximize the help we are all bringing to the animals in distress. Our campaign goals are calculated to balance our storage, delivery and manufacturing costs of the offered products.

Delivering failed campaigns would generate too many costs, which would eventually lead to the bankruptcy of the website and leave all the animals that we could have helped alone...

The delivery of unfinished campaigns is also physically impossible for some products (if only 50% of a kennel is financed: we can not cut it in half).

Why can't you at least transfer the collected money to the association ?

Our activity is regulated by the french tax law, it forbides us to transfer money instead of the advertised product (article L 548-1 of the Monetary and Financial Code).

For this reason, when a campaign fails, donations are immediately refunded. If they want to, donors can send this money directly to the association.

If you can't transfer the collected money to the association, why don't you just send it to another one ?

Our activity is regulated by the french tax law, it forbides us to use the money for anything else than the original use announced in the campaign (article L 548-1).

So, unfortunately, we are not allowed to transfer donations from a campaign to another.

What happens to the free clicks assigned to a failed campaign?

Free clicks are saved before being reallocated to other campaigns (free clicks being immaterial, they are not submited to the same obligations than financial donations).

Animal Webaction visited the site 11 March 2022 and confirms the situation described below.

1. In Morocco, Rokaya will soon run out of kibble for the 149 dogs at her shelter. They will starve if nobody intervenes!

###

“Our situation at the shelter has not improved, it's only gotten worse! I keep finding dogs in the streets and people keep abandoning their sick dogs in front of our door. I now have 149 dogs at the shelter, and as usual when the number increases, it impacts the quantities of kibble needed!

Since the pandemic, donations are very few. I fear for my dogs and their lives as they don’t have anywhere to find food other than from me! If I don't bring them kibble, they might starve... That situation is hard and stressful and with the lack of kibble, the shelter loses its first purpose : welcoming abandoned dogs, offering them food, helping them recover from diseases and protecting them... I do not rescue dogs from the streets to let them starve here at the shelter!

I feel very sad at the moment, I have managed to avoid cutting the dogs' portion so far but I have only 4 days of kibble left... I am not going to be able to stretch it for much longer! I have been lucky to count on your support last time but what if this campaign fails? I have no other organization to look to for support... Me and my dogs entirely depend on this campaign to get kibble!”

2. Without kibble, the vulnerable dogs in the shelter will become even weaker and the strays will no longer be rescued!

###

"I have many weak dogs at the shelter, some have been recently rescued and suffer from extreme malnourishment, some have skin issues or infections, others are disabled... the list goes on. All these dogs are particularly vulnerable and they need sufficient food to recover. I'm really afraid that with the impeding lack of food, the dogs' health will take a turn for the worse... I would be devastated to see the dogs I rescued from a bad life in the street, suffer in the shelter because I can not feed them!

On the street, dogs are at risk every day because people try to poison them and the local authorities still lead killing campaigns... I can’t tell you how distressed and hopeless I feel when I face situations like these. The thing is, if I don't have kibble to feed the dogs under the shelter's roof, I won't be able to rescue new ones either... Without my help, those dogs wil die... A this stage, this campaign is the only hope I have to keep helping all the dogs who count on me."

3. Hit by a car and suffering from serious injuries, Max is now paralyzed... He needs kibble to regain some strength!

###

“I found Max on the road 3 weeks ago, after he was hit by a car. The accident has left him crippled, he can't walk or move his lower joints. Unfortunately, the vet has said he is likely to never walk again...

We really want to make sure that Max has as good a life as possible, so we are going to ask for a wheelchair to help with his mobility. But right now, what he needs the most to recover from his serious injuries and support his treatment is copious amounts of good food. Only this campaign can help me provide this for him!"

4. Affected by the decrease in donations and the lack of partnerships, Rokaya can no longer buy kibble.

###

“In Tetouan, there is no other place like our shelter, hosting that number of dogs and providing them with care and food. So of course, we have difficulties and most of them are related to donations… There has not been a significant change on that side, donations are still low and sadly, I still have lots of debts at the food supplier, the vet, the pharmacy...

Besides all the dogs I take care of at the shelter, we also have 50 cats and a horse. I don’t know if you can imagine the tremendous effort it requires… It is very difficult to look after all these animals, and as their number grows, I need more supplies, more time and more energy!

Despite all of those difficulties, we do not give up and we keep fighting to find new solutions. Lately, we presented our case to 4 organizations abroad for help, and I hope that some of them will accept and sponsor us. I also hope that, someday, things will change and more people will start loving animals and caring for them.”

5. Rokaya isn't asking for money, only kibble to keep the dogs from starving!

###

“It may sound very cliché but my dogs are my love and my passion! I can't imagine what my life would look like if I was not caring for them. I sacrifice a lot of my time and energy for the sake of this shelter but at the end of the day, I am happy to know I am making a difference in these dogs' lives.

Recently, we succeeded in getting 7 demands of adoptions mostly from Canada and Europe. One dog has taken the plane last Saturday to Canada and we have prepared everything for this trip. The other dogs are expected to travel soon, we’re just waiting for the procedures...

Despite this good news, the number of dogs under our care remains very high, getting kibble for them is our top priority. I'm very thankful to everyone who will participate in this campaign and will help me continue caring for them.”

6. If this campaign succeeds, Rokaya will not receive any money but 3000 kg of kibble, delivered from Animal Webaction's logistics platform in Morocco.

Animal Webaction has a logistic platform in Morocco which allows us to intervene quickly and deliver kibble throughout the country.

7. Calls for help, search for sponsors and partners, Rokaya has already tried everything, but can't find a solution to get kibble.

“I post on my Facebook and Instagram pages whenever I need help. I tried to conduct online fundraisings but it failed… Unfortunately, all my efforts to try and solve our kibble issue haven't worked, and besides direct donations, we do not currently receive any sponsorship.

We have recently contacted other organizations to seek help, some of them have already told us that they couldn’t help and referred us to other organizations. Others replied that they needed to investigate the shelter and see the situation for themselves. I hope that they will accept our request and give us a positive answer… That would be very beneficial for us!

In the meantime, only Animal webaction can help me feed my dogs!”

8. Campaigns launched on Animal Webaction often fail.

Liste des récoltes échouées

When a campaign fails, Animal Webaction cannot deliver the products. The beneficiary doesn't receive anything and the buyers are refunded.

9. In Morocco, donors are scarce, and there are no foundations or subsidies. It is very difficult to find funding for kibble, many dogs remain starving in the street!
