Animal Webaction visited the site 02 April 2022 and confirms the situation described below.

1. In Morocco, Hanane will soon run out of food for the 180 dogs in her shelter, they will starve if no one does anything!

%%%

"I am experiencing the worst crisis ever at the shelter, and the situation is only getting worse: the number of dogs is only increasing, this week alone I have carried out 7 rescues including 4 puppies. On the other hand, I haven't received any adoption requests for a long time, and donations are non-existent... It's becoming very complicated for me to feed all my dogs, and if I don't find kibble quickly, it will be a disaster!

As the association depends mainly on donations to function, but people don't help us as much as they used to, I'm clearly in a bind. I used to give the dogs leftover food, but that's no longer possible either, because even restaurants now ask for money in exchange for their leftovers... I always make sure I don't run out of kibble to feed my dogs, but I've run out of options!

I feel overwhelmed, I'm afraid for my dogs' health because I only have a few days of kibble left and I don't know how I'm going to feed them after that... I don't even dare to think what would happen to my dogs if they become hungry, I need this campaign to succeed, it's my last hope!"

2. The lives of Hanane's dogs are threatened by the lack of kibble: already weakened by their past on the streets, they will not survive starvation!

###

"The lack of kibble is disastrous for the dogs' health: they develop urinary tract infections, lose weight and are much more likely to catch diseases. For the moment, I have not yet started to ration the dogs in the shelter, but it will happen soon. On the other hand, the street dogs that I used to feed regularly have hardly eaten any kibble for several weeks now...

The number of street dogs in distress is constantly increasing because they are not sterilized and continue to reproduce at a crazy speed! I try to help them as much as possible: they are weakened by hunger and catch diseases, or seriously injured after being beaten by humans... I welcome the most fragile ones to the shelter, but if I don't have any kibble to give them when they arrive, they have no chance of getting out!

Without kibble, I am forced to leave the street dogs to their fate and that breaks my heart... As we have entered the month of Ramadan, all the restaurants are closed and stray dogs will not find any food to eat in their bins. This kibble campaign must succeed or I will have no other solution to save their lives!"

3. Bounty has scabies and has lost his sight: he is too weak to survive a lack of kibble!

###

"I rescued Bounty from the streets 1 year ago, the poor guy was already blind and very thin from a lack of food... He is still very shy and has trouble gaining weight: he really needs good quality, palatable food to regain his strength and have a chance to survive.

As he is recovering very slowly from scabies, I am afraid that the disease will spread to his whole body, which he will not be able to bear! He needs a good food full of vitamins to regain his strength!"

4. Hanane is more alone than ever in the face of rising prices and falling donations: she can no longer buy kibble.

###

"The financial situation of the association is becoming more and more difficult, I have only one keeper left whom I can hardly pay, and the cleaning lady and the second keeper have left because I could no longer afford to keep them... Since donations and adoptions are non-existent and I'm in debt to the vet, I can't afford to buy kibble or save more dogs on my own.

To avoid problems with the neighbours as in the past, the new shelter is much more isolated and therefore difficult to access: no volunteers come to help me... Unfortunately, this new location is costing me a lot of money in gas: diesel has increased by 50% in Morocco! I've reached a point where I hesitate before rescuing a dog because it's an extra cost that can't be used to feed the dogs I already take care of...

I hope that people's mentality will change one day and that they will finally start thinking about the welfare of animals. At the shelter, I have 20 dogs waiting to be sterilised, including 2 females that are already pregnant: due to lack of money, I have not been able to do this, whereas as many dogs as possible should be sterilised to prevent their numbers from increasing further!"

5. Hanane isn't asking for money, only kibble to prevent the dogs from starving!

###

"I live for animals! I deprive myself of my own needs to buy them kibble and give them the care they need to survive... The association and the shelter take up all my time, my mission is vital: to save dogs in distress, sterilise them to stop their proliferation, vaccinate them and give them all the care they need so that they find an adoptive family.

It makes me feel so good when I see a dog heal with my help! I am sure that with more help, we could do better, save animals from suffering and stop their proliferation on the streets. I will continue to fight for this to happen, I will not give up!"

6. If this campaign succeeds, Hanane will not receive any money but 2500 kg of kibble, delivered from the Animal Webaction logistic platform in Morocco.

###

Animal Webaction has a logistic platform in Morocco, which allows us to intervene quickly and deliver kibbles.

7. Despite all her efforts to find new partners, Hanane is on her own: this kibble campaign is her last chance to save her dogs!

"I'm constantly looking for new partners but it doesn't work... Fortunately, the association 'Animaux en Péril' gives me a donation every other month, my vet offers me a sterilisation every Friday, and Royal Canin gives me some kibble from time to time. Unfortunately, this is not enough to feed 180 dogs daily!

Since the beginning of the pandemic, donations have dropped drastically and as I have not worked since the creation of the shelter, I can no longer manage all the expenses... I regularly ask for help from people who have already helped me in the past, but unfortunately they have already done their best on their side too! The bad news I received recently is that I won't be able to receive any state subsidy this year because there is less and less money available for animals...

My social media posts are not getting any more interaction, as if people have lost their interest in animals... I'm still looking for organisations to help me and I'm going through every possible means to find a solution and get out of this crisis. Unfortunately, so far I have not received any positive feedback, my only hope is this kibble campaign!"

8. Campaigns launched on Animal Webaction often fail

When a campaign fails, Animal Webaction cannot deliver the products. The beneficiary doesn't receive anything and the buyers are refunded.

9. In Morocco, donors are scarce, and there are no foundations or subsidies. It is very difficult to find funding for kibbles, many dogs remain starving on the street!
