Animal Webaction
This campaign has failed... SOS street dogs of Morocco hasn't received anything. Why?

It is always a huge disappointment to see a campaign fail, it means that the concerned animals will not receive any help. Unfortunately, we can not ship incomplete campaigns.

When a campaign fails, why can't you at least deliver what has been collected ?

We want to maximize the help we are all bringing to the animals in distress. Our campaign goals are calculated to balance our storage, delivery and manufacturing costs of the offered products.

Delivering failed campaigns would generate too many costs, which would eventually lead to the bankruptcy of the website and leave all the animals that we could have helped alone...

The delivery of unfinished campaigns is also physically impossible for some products (if only 50% of a kennel is financed: we can not cut it in half).

Why can't you at least transfer the collected money to the association ?

Our activity is regulated by the french tax law, it forbides us to transfer money instead of the advertised product (article L 548-1 of the Monetary and Financial Code).

For this reason, when a campaign fails, donations are immediately refunded. If they want to, donors can send this money directly to the association.

If you can't transfer the collected money to the association, why don't you just send it to another one ?

Our activity is regulated by the french tax law, it forbides us to use the money for anything else than the original use announced in the campaign (article L 548-1).

So, unfortunately, we are not allowed to transfer donations from a campaign to another.

What happens to the free clicks assigned to a failed campaign?

Free clicks are saved before being reallocated to other campaigns (free clicks being immaterial, they are not submited to the same obligations than financial donations).

Animal Webaction visited the site 01 April 2022 and confirms the situation described below.

1. In Morocco, Nassima will soon run out of kibble for the 100 street dogs that rely on her. They will starve if no one does anything!

%%%

"I feed about 100 stray dogs, which is a lot, and their number keeps increasing because there is no municipal sterilization program. This is not the only problem: most of the stray dogs have diseases especially scabies, because the more dogs there are, the more diseases develop... At the moment, because of the lack of donations, I can't feed them as much as I used to and because of the bad quality of the kibble I give them, most of the dogs have diarrhea and worms...

I am alone to care for and feed the street dogs, locally nobody helps me, it is really very difficult! I am unemployed since the pandemic, I am in need of sponsorships, and I don't currently receive any monthly donation that could allow me to fulfill their most basic need : kibble! In a few days I will have nothing left to give them... I swear I am worried about not being able to feed them or keep them alive!

If I don't feed the stray dogs, they will seek food next to populated areas, where they will have the highest chances to be caught and later killed by the authorities. I am very anxious, it is imperative that this kibble campaign succeeds so the dogs can survive!"

2. Suffering from advanced scabies, Safa is very fragile. She will not recover without kibble!

###

"Safa is a female who has been living in the streets of Ghazoua for two years now. She was born in the forest and joined the pack of dogs that I currently feed. Her condition is worrying, she is very fragile because she has advanced scabies and lots of ticks.

She needs kibble to regain her strength and to keep her health from deteriorating any further. Without me to bring her kibble, she will not recover!"

3. Nassima can only feed the 28 dogs in her shelter every other day. Without kibble, they will not survive!

%%%

"I have 28 dogs at the shelter and just like for the street dogs, it has become very complicated to feed them, I can only give them kibble every other day, and soon I will have nothing left! I am afraid for my dogs' health...

I do everything I can for my dogs, I try to take care of them as much as possible: cleaning, kibbles, walks, care, and to give them better conditions than in the streets. Here, the dogs live in a garden and share the terrace of the house. But even though they have the comfort of having a roof over their heads, they too need to eat... Without kibble, they won't be able to survive."

4. Debts are piling up for Nassima and without donations or sponsorships, she can no longer buy kibble!

###

"The main difficulty is the lack of money and donations to be able to feed and care for the animals properly, especially since the pandemic. I would like the association to have more volunteers, sponsorships as well as donors so that I can move forward. Since the last campaign, I was able to feed the street dogs and therefore avoid the worst. But if I can  no longer do so, another pick-up and killing will be planned by the authorities...

Unfortunately, there has been no recent change, the crisis is still very present. Adoptions are down, I don't get any donations anymore, and I have unbearable debts to the kibble supplier, for the shelter's rent, and to the vet... Some of my dogs are sick, and I can't even buy the treatments they need...

I wish people could send us donations, kibble or even a package of pills, that would be great! But in the meantime, I can only rely on this campaign to feed my dogs."

5. Nassima isn't asking for money, only kibble to prevent the dogs from starving.

###

"For more than 6 years that the association and the shelter have existed, I have been fighting over and over to help stray dogs, trying every day to save mistreated and abandoned animals. Today it has become very complicated: even providing kibble has become a challenge!

In addition, there is still a lot of work to be done with the local population... I would love to see people try to educate their children to respect animals and to finally see a local sterilization program see the light of day."

6. If this campaign succeeds, Nassima will not receive any money, but 2500 kg of kibble, delivered from Animal Webaction's logistics platform in Morocco.

Animal Webaction has a logistics platform in Morocco, which enables us to intervene quickly and deliver kibble everywhere in the country.

7. The absence of tourism and the drop in donations have a lasting impact on Nassima's actions. This campaign is his only hope of feeding the dogs!

###

"At the moment, it is very complicated to finance my actions with animals, I don't receive enough help despite all my efforts! I haven't received any sponsorship since the pandemic nor any donation. I have contacted guest houses and hotels to try and get help but I have not received any positive answer because their activity has slowed down...

I get help from time to time from 2 friends and some family members but they can't always help me, and it is not enough. I need this campaign to work because I can't cope alone anymore!"

8. Campaigns launched on Animal Webaction often fail.

Liste des récoltes échouées

When a campaign fails, Animal Webaction cannot deliver the collected products, the beneficiary does not receive anything and the buyers are refunded.

9. In Morocco, donors are scarce, and there are no foundations or subsidies. It is very difficult to find funding for kibble, many dogs remain starving in the streets!
