"We feed between 450 and 500 free cats, spread over more than a dozen feeding areas, between the countryside and the city. We currently have no food stock. The volunteers buy low quality kibble with their own money, but that won't last!
Lately we have had to ration the cats and feed them a mixture of poor quality kibble, canned vegetables and pasta. This is not a suitable diet, but it is all we can give them...
Some cats are starting to get sick. The most vulnerable ones won't last long! And when we'll have nothing left to give them, they may die one after the other... "
"Tao is a free cat who was born in the streets, on a feeding site where there are 80 other cats. He is now about 9 years old, and unfortunately he has developed ear cancer.
The vet had to operate him, to remove one of his ears which was necrotizing. The disease also made him lose a lot of weight and weakened him considerably. Without kibble to regain his strength, he will not survive!"
"The situation has never been easy, but now it is really complicated. With the war in Ukraine, people give less and less to our association. The city hall doesn't grant us any subsidy either because we are not considered a priority. The few memberships and donations we receive are far from enough to feed all the cats.
We have had to stop sterilizations, because we lack the means to go on... But in the long run, it will only make the problem worse: the cats will be more and more, and in the end there will be too many of them. When the kittens will arrive, we don't know how we will make it..."
"I have been caring for cats every day for almost 15 years. We started the association three years ago with the hope to help cats in need.
Every time I go feed them, the cats' bowls are empty and they are waiting for me. On the site I'm responsible for, the cats are so many. Taking care of them is far beyond my means... but we have to find a solution and fast! Having kibble is vital for them."
