Animal Webaction visited the site 21 May 2022 and confirms the situation described below.

1. In Morocco, Ibtissam has almost run out of kibble to feed the 153 dogs in her shelter, they will starve if no one intervenes!

%%%

"With the increase in the number of dogs abandoned on the streets, the number of dogs I take in at the shelter keeps growing... The problem is that as I am so short of funds, they don't eat enough! In order not to let them die of hunger, I find myself compensating the little kibble I have left with hard bread... This situation cannot last: the bread only fills their stomachs but does not bring them any nutrients!

I can't see any solution at the moment: I have exhausted my personal resources and I don't receive any more donations. The damage caused by the Covid is still being felt, I was finally able to resume a professional activity recently but in an irregular way, and anyway, it's not enough: between the expenses necessary for daily life and the needs of the shelter, I clearly can't finance everything alone! I feel anger and above all fear, the fear of losing one of my animals because of the lack of kibble...

Today, I only have one day of kibble left, it will last a little longer thanks to the bread, but I need help, kibble and donations so that this shelter continues to save lives... I beg you to help me by sharing my actions, to make others want to do the same, to help me to raise awareness, to change things because it is thanks to you and with you that I can win this difficult battle. My last hopes lie in this campaign!"

2. The dogs living at the shelter are already sick and suffer from malnutrition: the lack of kibble will kill them!

###

"I started rationing the dogs in the shelter more than 2 weeks ago now, and I have already noticed the consequences on their health: weight loss, diarrhoea, dental problems, immunity problems, etc. At the shelter, there are those who are sick, those who are starving, and the new dogs rescued from the street who arrive here in fragile situations.

The situation of the street dogs in Marrakech is always critical and their living conditions are truly abominable! The local population does not accept these dogs at all, besides, the slaughters still take place almost every month: the last one took place 2 weeks ago, they killed a large part of the dogs I was taking care of, they were all vaccinated and castrated... When I think about them, I feel sad and helpless, it makes me sick...

If I don't find kibble, the dogs in the shelter risk their lives: my biggest worry is that my animals won't have enough to eat, that they will lose weight to the point of deficiency, catch diseases and die of hunger. I can't accept this idea, I need this campaign to succeed so that I can save them, I won't let them live this nightmare without giving them a chance to get out: I will continue to fight for them, but for that I need your help!"

3. Bader's medication won't work without a proper diet: he won't survive without kibble!

###

"Bader was born in the shelter, his mother had been rescued from the village with his sister. Since he was born, he is very fragile and gets sick all the time... He was probably infected by a virus transmitted by his mother, because his sister is also sick all the time and in the same state as him!

His health had deteriorated a lot, so the vet had to prescribe him a lot of medication. Unfortunately, he still hasn't recovered because he doesn't eat good enough quality kibble, and a drug treatment, even if adapted, with an empty stomach, is useless... He has no chance of getting better if I don't get some kibble soon!"

4. Alone fighting for the survival of stray dogs, Ibtissam is morally exhausted and financially without any solution: this kibble campaign is her last hope!

###

"I have been getting no help with kibble and less and less donations for far too long. I finance everything with loans in my own name and I'm really afraid that I won't be able to afford all the costs of my shelter in a very short time if the situation continues like this.

Prices have risen sharply in the last few months, and I have more and more debts to the vet and the kibble suppliers, I can't pay the salaries of my employees, the medicines for the sick dogs, their vet fees, nor the rent for the shelter! If this kibble campaign fails, I really fear for the health of my dogs as I would have no other solution to feed them..."

5. Ibtissam isn't asking for money, only kibble to prevent the dogs from starving!

###

"My shelter, my animals, represent my whole life, my vocation, I can't see myself living without them! It takes up all my time, my energy, my money: it's a huge commitment and a very heavy responsibility. I have been doing this alone for almost 14 years, and without my intervention, many poor dogs, including all those I have rescued, would still be suffering in the street...

Thanks to the education I do and the example I give, the population here is slowly starting to be sensitive to the animal cause and to change their mentality, but in the city, I still don't see any change and nobody wants to help me... It's a pity because even the smallest help would allow me to do much more for the street dogs!

I have three employees at the shelter, but most of the time I'm the one who takes care of everything... I am exhausted morally, physically and financially... There are so many dogs in distress on the streets that I can't help because of the lack of means... At the shelter, there are even some dogs that need medical interventions but they are so expensive that I have to wait... I really need your help to get kibble, I can't do it alone!"

6. If this campaign succeeds, Ibtissam will not receive any money but 2500 kg of kibble, delivered from the Animal Webaction logistic platform in Morocco.

Animal Webaction has a logistic platform in Morocco, which allows us to intervene quickly and deliver kibbles.

7. Ibtissam's efforts to find help are in vain, her only hope of getting kibble is that this campaign succeeds!

"Before, I managed to finance the kibbles by my jobs, some donations here and there, and of course the Animal Webaction campaignse which helped me a lot. As at the moment I don't receive any help from any organisation, the donations have disappeared and the adoptions have stopped, I launch calls for help on the association's Facebook page. Unfortunately, this does not work...

My animals are safe at the shelter, as are those I have adopted from Morocco or abroad, who are now safe with their families. Unfortunately, adoptions are currently on standby and people keep calling me to report abandonments... I would love to take in more dogs, but to do that I have to be able to feed the ones in my care at the shelter! It's a never-ending circle, I don't know what to do anymore... I need your help to keep feeding my babies!"

8. Campaigns launched on Animal Webaction often fail

Liste des récoltes échouées

When a campaign fails, Animal Webaction cannot deliver the products. The beneficiary doesn't receive anything and the buyers are refunded.

9. In Morocco, donors are scarce, and there are no foundations or subsidies. It is very difficult to find funding for kibbles, many dogs remain starving on the street!
