1. In Romania, Cristina will soon run out of kibble to feed the 150 dogs in her shelter: they will starve to if no one intervenes!

%%%

"Since the beginning of the pandemic, and now the war in Ukraine, life is becoming more and more difficult for everyone: people abandon their pets more because they can't afford to take care of them anymore... As a result, there are more dogs on the streets, and therefore more dogs in the shelter, which puts even more pressure on me: I have to buy more kibble, build more pens, look after them...

The biggest problem I face is the lack of food: as we are in the hottest season of the year, I have to provide them with more and better quality kibble so that they can survive! I do my best not to decrease their daily rations or the quality of the kibble, as the dogs risk getting sick, even losing their fur, dehydrating... Unfortunately, I only have a few days of kibble left, and the prices have gone up so much that I can't buy more on my own: I've already used up my personal resources and I don't get any donations!

This is very stressful for me, the daily uncertainty of whether I will find funds to buy kibble is taking a toll on my health and personal life. It is crucial that this campaign succeeds as I have no one else to turn to! It is imperative that I feed these poor dogs, they depend on me to survive..."

2. Cristina is the only one who can save the stray dogs in her area: if she doesn't find some kibble soon, they are doomed...

###

"When living on the street, dogs approach homes in search of food, and are beaten, chased, or even poisoned by residents. Many end up being hit by cars or injured by other packs... In the region where we live, there is no pound and the number of stray dogs is constantly increasing. So I have no choice but to increase the capacity of my shelter, I can't leave them on the street, I couldn't live with the knowledge that these poor animals are going through hell!

Without my help, most of the dogs would already be dead on the street. Unfortunately, as my resources are very limited, I can't afford to buy enough kibble for everyone: it's an urgent problem, the dogs in the shelter need to eat to stay alive and have the chance to find a loving family.

My team and I are under constant stress. I really need this campaign to succeed as I have no other option to get the food I need. I am trying to change the way people in the area think and act towards stray dogs, but there is still a long way to go to achieve this: in the meantime the dogs need me to eat!"

3. Because of his troubled past on a breeding farm, Paris is fragile and will need kibble to survive.

###

"Paris is a Bull Terrier who was used for breeding in a kennel... His owner wanted to get rid of him because he couldn't impregnate the females anymore! We don't know what happened to Paris in this kennel, but he is very afraid of humans... If I approach him holding something in my hand, he hides in his kennel. I think he has been abused...

Paris has breed specific allergies and has started to develop arthritis due to his advanced age and lack of care from his previous owner. Unfortunately, I cannot promote Paris for adoption due to his fear of humans. So he will stay at the shelter with me for the rest of his life, it would break my heart not to be able to provide him with kibble after all he has been through..."

4. Since the beginning of the war in Ukraine the prices have exploded and the association does not receive any subsidy, Cristina cannot buy kibble anymore.

###

"The shelter's funds are made up of direct donations, our personal income and fundraising on social networks. Before the pandemic, people visited us more often and brought bags of kibble or other material donations. But since Covid, donations have decreased because many people have lost their jobs and are facing their own difficulties, so donations have become far from sufficient to cover all the kibble needs of these dogs... This situation has even worsened since the beginning of the war in Ukraine, as prices have exploded while we have not seen any increase in donations!

Another problem we face is the waste water produced every day after cleaning the pens. As we do not have a sewage system in the area, we have been trying for some time to build a septic tank. However, we have been forced to postpone this project due to lack of funds: food is the priority for the dogs, and in the meantime we have to postpone all other projects! As my personal funds are already exhausted and donations are scarce, I really need all the help I can get to save the dogs' lives..."

5. Cristina is not asking for money, only kibble to prevent the dogs from starving.

###

"The story of my passion for animal rescue started 8 years ago, when my country was faced with a tragedy: the launching of culling campaigns against stray dogs! The authorities passed this law because it was easier to solve the situation in such a barbaric way, rather than to find appropriate and non-violent measures...

I live in a country that does not treat animals with dignity. There are not enough people to provide all the necessary help, so I don't have much hope for the near future. I am afraid that the slaughter will continue, as in many parts of the country this barbaric process has been turned into a profitable business.

I hope that I will be able to raise awareness in the community, to make people understand the importance of sterilisation. I am proud of the work I have done so far. Every year I send many dogs for adoption abroad and I treat many sick animals. I am very happy to see all the good we have been able to do for many dogs in need, and we will continue to do so as long as we can!"

6. If this campaign succeeds, Crina will not receive any money but 2400 kg of kibble, delivered from the Animal Webaction logistic platform in Romania.

Animal Webaction has a logistic platform in Romania, which allows us to intervene quickly and deliver kibbles.

7. Appeals for donations are not working, the few supporters of the association are overwhelmed and Cristina has already used all of her savings: this campaign is her last hope to get kibbles!

"I regularly fundraise with the help of "Voice for the Needy", but these are mainly for the treatment of sick dogs... I have tried to reach out to other organisations, but unfortunately they are all overwhelmed and have not been able to help me buy kibble. I have also tried to reach the local authorities, without success...

I know everyone is overwhelmed at the moment, but I've already spent all my savings on kibble and it's almost gone, so I don't know what else to do. As donations are scarce and all the organisations are overwhelmed with other requests, this campaign is my only chance to feed the dogs..."

8. Campaigns launched on Animal Webaction often fail.

When a campaign fails, Animal Webaction cannot deliver the products. The beneficiary doesn't receive anything and the buyers are refunded.

9. In Romania, it is difficult to find funds for kibbles, there are no aid, no grants, no foundation... Many abandoned dogs die alone in the streets, in complete indifference.
