Poor Aya was living in an unsanitary cellar, with about thirty other animals...

1. She was traumatized by terrible living conditions...

Aya is a cat that the owner had locked up in his cellar, with about thirty other animals. Someone would come by and throw them a few kibbles, without ever cleaning up or allowing them to get out!

The place was completely unsanitary and Aya came out of it very skinny and completely traumatized... She still has a panic fear of men and has to take a treatment for her anxiety.

2. With canned food, she could calm down and gain weight

Highly nutritious canned food would help Aya regain her weight. Perhaps such comfort food given on a regular basis would help soothe her a bit, in addition to her treatment.

3. Many cats are abandoned!

The kitten season has started again: for the past three weeks, we have been taking in mothers with their kittens, as well as adult cats that are sociable but in very poor health. Abandonments are still going strong! In total, we have nearly thirty new arrivals!
