1. In Morocco, Rokaya has no more kibble to feed the 157 dogs in her shelter: they will starve if no one intervenes!

%%%

"The slaughter of stray dogs is raging in Morocco at the moment, but unfortunately, I can't save as many as I would like, I don't have the means... My shelter is the only place where they are safe, the only place where they won't get shot for no reason! Between my debts and the increase in the price of raw materials and gasoline, I feel helpless... The dogs need me more than ever but there is nothing I can do. If I save more dogs and take them into the shelter, I would not have any kibble to give them!

Today, I only have a few kilos of kibble left that will last for a few days, and I have been mixing it with rice for several weeks to make it last as long as possible... Unfortunately, even rice has become expensive! I am worried, I am afraid to see them suffer, especially because of the lack of kibble. You are the only ones who can help me feed them, I beg you to help me get these kibbles!"

2. In Tetouan, the street slaughters have started: without kibble to welcome them in the shelter, Rokaya knows they are doomed!

###

"At this very moment, we are witnessing a real massacre in the streets of Tetouan! Dogs are shot in cold blood in broad daylight, they are dying... I can't see them suffering like this, even if I welcome as many as possible to the shelter, I don't have enough food to welcome more... They are in great danger! I receive new videos of these massacres every day, I post many of them on social networks to show people the reality of the living conditions of stray dogs in Morocco.

This problem of killings in broad daylight has become uncontrollable, we have tried everything to stop the authorities but they won't stop! That's why I raise my voice to make people realize how dramatic it is... The only solution for the moment is to put them in safety in the refuge, but the price of the croquettes and the gasoline increased so much that I am in the total incapacity to feed them all...

Without this kibble harvest, I couldn't even afford to feed the 157 dogs at the shelter with my own resources. The street dogs and the dogs in my shelter will all be at risk. If this campaign fails I will be devastated, I will be heartbroken to see them starve!"

3. Because of his disease, Lubo has a lot of difficulty to move: he is totally dependent on Rokaya and will not survive without kibbles...

###

"Lubo's owner abandoned him and brought him to us at the shelter. Because of his age, he suffers from arthritis and severe itching due to a skin disease. Without my help to eat and the medication I offer him, he would have no chance to survive... I can see that he is suffering a lot because of the heat, his joints are hurting even more than usual. It hurts me a lot to see him like this, he can hardly even move properly. If I stop giving him kibble, he is doomed..."

4. Non-existent subsidies and partnerships, debts... Rokaya is exhausted and can no longer buy kibble.

###

"I don't get as many donations as I used to, life has become so expensive and the world so stressful that people are cutting back and can't afford to help our shelter... This drop in donations has affected our funding a lot, I can't buy kibble anymore and I can't take care of the dogs as I would like to. I have started to accumulate debts to the vet, but at this rate I will not be able to continue much longer...

A generous donor from the United Arab Emirates used to help me a lot, but since her company is in trouble, she cannot help me anymore. We depend on very few donors, so when one person is unable to fund us, we are left with nothing!

It is very difficult to find a permanent solution to the kibble problem, because we have no support from the authorities and many of the donations we could rely on have stopped. It is a time of distress... This kibble campaign is vital for the dogs!"

5. Rokaya is not asking for money, only kibble to prevent the dogs from starving.

###

"My biggest accomplishment is this shelter, it is something I am very proud of, given that I am the only one in the area that created this space where the dogs are safe from risks. It’s not an easy task and when I think of how long I’ve been doing this with the very few resources I have, I feel very proud.

Thanks to my actions, there are less dogs in the streets and I believe it benefits both the dogs and the community. There is still a long way to go in terms of animal rights in Morocco but we're starting to see changes, little by little. In Tetouan there are less mass killings and we’ve begun to see people adopting and caring for dogs in some areas of the cities. I just hope that more people get to know how amazing dogs are and to treat them well."

6. If this campaign succeeds, Rokaya will not receive any money but 3000 kg of kibble, delivered from Animal Webaction's logistics platform in Morocco.

Animal Webaction has a logistic platform in Morocco which allows us to intervene quickly and deliver kibble throughout the country.

7. Despite all her pleas for help, Rokaya has little support and no idea how to get kibble without it!

"After posting about the problem of mass slaughter of dogs on social networks, some organizations contacted us to help us sterilize dogs. Unfortunately, we could not benefit from it because the authorities do not accept that we receive external help... It is a real psychological war that is going on between the authorities and the animal rights defenders!

I used to get donations from people abroad, with what I received I could afford to buy a few bags of kibble, especially since I had fewer dogs in my care... I'm desperate, it's getting harder and harder to stay positive because no matter how many times I call for help, I don't get any results, no one helps me! I am very grateful to the Animal Webaction community because the last kibble campaign saved my dogs life! I hope we are successful this time too because I have no one but you..."

8. Campaigns launched on Animal Webaction often fail.

When a campaign fails, Animal Webaction cannot deliver the products. The beneficiary doesn't receive anything and the buyers are refunded.

9. In Morocco, donors are scarce, and there are no foundations or subsidies. It is very difficult to find funding for kibble, many dogs remain starving in the street!
