Animal Webaction visited the site 03 August 2022 and confirms the situation described below.

1. In Morocco, Hajar is almost out of kibble to feed the hundred or so street cats that depend on her, they will starve if no one intervenes!

%%%

"Street cats live a hellish life: when they are not neutered and have a poor diet made up of waste found in rubbish bins, they hardly live more than 3 or 4 years... Add to that the risk of being hit by a car, the diseases that are circulating, and recently scabies which is spreading at a crazy speed! At the moment, the temperatures are so high that many cats are dehydrated... No one but me thinks to give them fresh water every day!

Despite my best efforts, I can't afford to spay or neuter them all, which is why many of them continue to breed and pass on diseases to each other. The reality of the living conditions of street cats is dramatic: the cats die every day, starving, dehydrated, sick... Without a balanced diet to strengthen their immune system, the nightmare will continue!

It's been 5 days now that I don't have any more kibble to bring them: I'm in a financial impasse, I don't receive any more donations, I'm indebted to the kibble suppliers, I'm condemned to watch them suffer without being able to help them... I can see that they have started to lose weight because of eating rubbish: my biggest worry is that my cats will get sick or die of hunger. This kibble campaign is vital for their survival. You are my last hope!"

2. Little Solene is very weakened by a disease and is constantly attacked by other cats: without kibble, she is doomed to die in the street...

###

"Solene was abandoned at birth! She is now one year old and suffers from a serious illness that has left her almost blind. As her immune system is weakened by the lack of food, I see her wasting away day by day... Unfortunately, my shelter is completely saturated with very fragile cats and I can't even afford to feed them properly either... The lack of kibble prevents me from helping all these cats in need and it breaks my heart!

Because of her illness, she doesn't grow, doesn't gain weight, and her very sweet character prevents her from defending herself against attacks from other cats! I'm very worried about her, if I don't get her some good quality kibble soon, I'm afraid she'll die alone in the street, starving, or killed by the other cats..."

3. Hajar also hosts 100 very fragile cats in her shelter, who are also threatened by the lack of kibbles.

"My shelter is full! I am feeding my cats what little kibble I have left, but I am almost out. I recently bought a large quantity of kibble on credit but the supplier wants me to start paying some bills before they will allow me to take out another loan... The problem is that without a donation I am unable to start paying it! In a few days I won't have any kibble left, and no way to get any...

My cats have started to fight, they are restless and getting weaker... They feel that they are not eating enough and their behaviour is changing day by day. The majority of my cats need treatment and medication, and I can't get them the food they need to make these treatments work! For too long, neither the kennels nor the appeals for donations have worked: I can't do it alone anymore, I need this kibble campaign to save them!"

4. Miracle is blind and very weak from illness: this kibble campaign is his only hope of survival.

###

"At only 6 months old, poor Miracle is already very weak from a very bad illness. When I rescued him, he was in a pitiful state of health... I did everything I could, but we couldn't save his eyes. Now he is in more danger than ever: as he has gone blind, he is unable to fend for himself, without my help he would be unable to feed himself! If I don't get him good quality kibble soon, his immune system will deteriorate even more, and he won't survive... I'm very afraid for him, he doesn't deserve this terrible fate, he's still just a kitten!"

5. Overwhelmed by the number of cats to be rescued and the drop in donations, Hajar is alone and desperate: this kibble campaign is vital for her cats!

###

"I regularly contact associations to help me sterilise cats or buy kibble, but nobody answers me... The price of kibble has risen again because of the crisis, and donations, which are still falling, cover barely 10% of the costs! For the remaining 90%, I'm the only one to take care of it... It's a huge budget, I can't keep up with it!

I have a lot of debts to the vet and to the pet shop: I do 4 sterilisations every quarter at my own expense, there are cats at the shelter that are waiting for surgery or sterilisation, but everything is at a standstill because of my lack of money! I need this fund so badly to be able to continue to help and save the cats. Without me they won't survive... You are my last hope!"

6. Hajar isn't asking for money, only kibbles to prevent the cats from starving.

###

"It all started 10 years ago when I realised that cats couldn't stand living on the streets, they were far too used to living with humans. I have always felt a great sadness for them... Especially because there are still people who think that cats can adapt to these terrible living conditions without any problems, and therefore continue to abandon their cats...

The reality is quite different: cats that have always lived with humans are helpless on the street, so I prefer to take them in at the shelter rather than leave them to their sad fate! I pay for sterilisations to stop the proliferation of cats in Salé, I take them to the vet for care and vaccinations and reduce the incidence of serious diseases...

I cannot continue my actions without people's support! My shelter is managed thanks to donations, but without your help, none of my actions would have worked. I thank Animal Webaction for all they do for the animals, they are my guardian angels!"

7. If this campaign is successful, Hajar will not receive any money but 920 kg of kibble, delivered from Animal Webaction's logistics platform in Morocco.

Animal Webaction has a logistical platform in Morocco, which allows us to intervene quickly and deliver kibble.

8. More and more cats are taken in, but the help Hajar receives is almost non-existent: she can only rely on this kibble campaign to feed the cats in need!

"I'm in a bind: I don't get enough donations, I've taken a lot of kibble on credit, and I can't buy any more... I'm asking for help on Facebook and setting up a fundraising campaign on Cotizup, but it's not enough. The municipality told me that they couldn't do anything for the cats, because they have other priorities than supporting animals in need...

Also, I haven't had any adoptions this year and when I receive requests, I am careful to make sure that the person will take good care of the cat in question, as they might abandon it on the street after a while, it happens regularly!

I am depressed and overwhelmed... The only good thing is that I sterilise 4 cats every three months, but I can't do more than that: that's the maximum I can handle! Nobody helps me pay for the sterilisations except Monique from Straycare... It's very difficult to continue, but I already thank you for the precious help you give me, it's what keeps me going, that's why I count more than anything on this campaign..."

9. Campaigns launched on Animal Webaction often fail.

Liste des récoltes échouées

When a campaign fails, Animal Webaction cannot deliver the collected products, the beneficiary receives nothing and the buyers get a refund...

10. In Morocco, donors are scarce, and there are no foundations or subsidies . It is very difficult to find funding for kibbles, many cats remain starving in the street!
