Animal Webaction visited the site 10 September 2022 and confirms the situation described below.

1. In Morocco, Hanane is running out of kibble to feed the 180 dogs in her shelter. They will starve if no one intervenes!

%%%

"At the moment there are a lot of sick, scabies, ringworm and tick-infested dogs on the street. Instead of taking care of them, their owners prefer to abandon them... As always, I know that no one else will take care of them if I don't help them... so I take them to the shelter to keep them safe from outside dangers and with the hope of giving them a better life.

The problem right now is that the association is severely lacking in resources, the price of gas and kibble has gone up a lot and the recently rescued sick dogs need a lot of medication and veterinary care... With the decrease in donations due to the crisis, I am unable to assume these additional costs, I find myself in a financial dead-end to feed and care for the dogs!

Most of the dogs have lost weight because of the lack of kibble and I can't buy more without help... I am desperate and except for Animal Webaction, no organization can help me... You are my only recourse to get out of this predicament!"

2. The dogs' aggressiveness increases as the portions of kibble decrease... If no solution is found, fights will get out of hand!

###

"The dogs at the shelter have been eating small portions of kibble or chicken carcasses for some time now. They are becoming more and more aggressive towards each other, each one trying to dominate. The fights are starting more and more and the dogs end up getting injured...

I welcome many vulnerable dogs to the shelter, many of them are thin, sick or recovering and obviously, they are the first to suffer the consequences of the lack of kibble.Their already weakened health takes an additional blow and they are not able to defend themselves against the aggressions of other dogs... I am terribly afraid for my dogs, I fear that this lack of kibble will last for a long time, that they will get sick and that the fights will become fatal..."

3. Without kibble, Roza's treatment against ringworm is ineffective... She will not survive without this delivery!

###

"Roza is a 3-year-old female, she is a street dog that I took into the shelter. Unfortunately, she suffers from persistent ringworm and no treatment has been beneficial for her so far. She is always relapsing because of the lack of kibble...

She needs a good quality diet to heal, because the treatment alone does not work anymore! The ringworm will spread all over her body if we don't act fast and considering her overall health and visible thinness, she won't survive a prolonged kibble deprivation..."

4. Declining donations, inflation and accumulated debts prevent Hanane from buying kibble for her dogs!

###

"The expenses associated with the shelter have increased a lot in the last few months. The increase in the price of gas is a big problem because I travel myself to rescue a dog. All transportation to the vet and to the shelter is done with my own car. With the increase in the number of abandoned and sick dogs, I have more than 1000 euros of debts accumulated at the vet ... the situation is such that I am forced to prioritize the most urgent operations only.

The price of kibbles has been increasing since the beginning of the year and the donations are decreasing. I am depressed and morally exhausted thinking about the fate of my shelter. If we continue at this rate, the association will not be able to survive much longer..."

5. Hanane isn't asking for money, only kibble to prevent the dogs from starving.

###

"I have loved animals since my childhood. Even then, I was well aware that street dogs were often mistreated and even poisoned... So as soon as I could, I decided to get involved for them, to improve their quality of life and their well-being. My actions are essential because I take care of them, I look for families for adoption too. My most beautiful reward is to see them getting better!

Due to being in the street to feed the dogs, the local people know my actions, some of them support me verbally. I also try to make people aware of the importance of sterilization and of being kind and compassionate to these animals. For the moment, I admit that I don't see much change... But all I can do is hope that little by little, mentalities will evolve and that a peaceful cohabitation between dogs and humans will be possible!"

6. If this campaign succeeds, Hanane will not receive any money but 2500 kg of kibble, delivered from the Animal Webaction logistic platform in Morocco.

###

Animal Webaction has a logistic platform in Morocco, which allows us to intervene quickly and deliver kibbles.

7. Hanane's pleas for help are in vain, she counts on this campaign to get out of this impasse.

"Donations are decreasing, people can't give anymore because of this crisis and because of the price increases... I receive small donations of kibble from time to time but it is not enough to feed all the dogs in my care, whether in the shelter or on the street. I do my best, I never stop fighting for the good of the dogs but my efforts are not enough. I don't see a solution anymore...

I am afraid that my dogs will starve because of the lack of kibble. I hope that this campaign will succeed and that this crisis will end as soon as possible. My association depends entirely on the donations of good people to be able to continue, and there are still so many dogs in need... I can't do it alone!"

8. Campaigns launched on Animal Webaction often fail

When a campaign fails, Animal Webaction cannot deliver the products. The beneficiary doesn't receive anything and the buyers are refunded.

9. In Morocco, donors are scarce, and there are no foundations or subsidies. It is very difficult to find funding for kibbles, many dogs remain starving on the street!
