Osteoarthritis, damaged teeth... with age, Kathy is no longer in perfect health!

1. Her teeth are in bad condition...

Kathy is a 26-year-old Breton draught mare, that we got back from a dealer to save her from the butchery. With age, her teeth have been considerably damaged, so that it has become difficult for her to chew.

2. She has a lot of trouble getting around

Kathy has a lot of arthritis in her legs. The wear and tear as well as the inflammation of her joints cause her to have serious mobility problems, making it difficult for her to walk.

3. Humidified pellets would help her gain strength

In order to stay in good shape despite her age, Kathy will need a complete diet. Mushy pellets would be perfect for her: they would allow her to eat, without the need to chew too much. Because it's a quality food, Kathy's joint inflammation wouldn't get too bad.

4. There is no grass left in the meadows!

The last bags of pellets are almost finished, and there is no more grass in the meadows. Besides that, we had to do a lot of rescues, which does not make the situation any easier. We will have to find a solution soon...
