1. In Romania, Andreea is almost out of kibble to feed the 120 puppies under her care. They will starve if no one intervenes!

%%%

"The abandonment rate is increasing relentlessly, every year.... With the pandemic and now the war, the impoverishment of households is increasing, many people are struggling to feed themselves so owning a dog is no longer a priority. To make matters worse, the town of Targu Frumos is located at a crossroads, so all the inhabitants of the surrounding towns come here and abandon their puppies, especially on Thursday, when there's a market day. They put them in a bag and throw them away...

The number of puppies in my care has increased a lot lately and the price of junior kibble has doubled since the beginning of the year! My donations and adoptions have decreased and the municipality does not give me anything for the puppies, they only pay half of the food for the adults at the pound. I can't keep up!

I have had to divide the puppies' portions for several weeks now and I only have enough for 3-4 days at most, with maximum cutting. They live on the bare minimum and they are hungry... Time is of the essence, the puppies can't grow up properly on a shaky foundations! If they develop health problems because of the lack of kibble, I couldn't forgive myself... I really need your help to avoid this!"

2. Puppies are being abandoned every day but Andreea no longer has enough kibble to rescue them! They are dying in the streets...

###

"The lack of kibble is our biggest problem at the moment. It has become extremely difficult to care for the dogs in the pound, and even more so the puppies. There are so many puppies abandoned on the streets, sometimes with their mothers, often without...

I try to help as much as I can, but now has come the moment where I realize I cannot help all of them... I received pictures of puppies yesterday and I had to say no... And unfortunately, this is happening more and more often. We are the only pound in the region, used for both the city and surrounding communities, we have been over capacity for a long time and beyond the space issues, the lack of kibble is affecting us more than anything.

We have never had so many mouths to feed, the needs are too great and if we used to have enough adoptions to somewhat stay afloat, this is unfortunately no longer the case. Without kibble, we cannot feed the puppies in our care properly, nor can we save any more, this saddens me deeply... I don't know what to do or where to turn... You are our only recourse to remedy this issue!"

3. Separated from his mother and abandoned on the streets, Jojo is extremely skinny, he needs kibble to survive!

###

"Jojo is a 1 month old puppy, I found him with his 10 brothers and sisters, abandoned near a dumpster in town.... They were separated from their mother. I took them all in about 3 weeks ago. Jojo is unfortunately the weakest of the bunch. He is doing much better than when I found him but he is still very skinny...

The portions of kibble the puppies get are not enough, so when it's feeding time, the more dominant puppies empty the others' bowls... Jojo is particularly vulnerable, he absolutely needs to gain strength now to develop harmoniously. But at the moment he is so thin you can see his bones... Without this delivery of kibble, I don't know if he will survive the next few weeks."

4. Adoptions and donations are at an all-time-low, Andreea can no longer buy kibble for the puppies!

###

"Since the beginning of the conflict in Ukraine, our donations have decreased considerably and our adoptions have followed the same path. The number of mouths to feed is unprecedented! I am constantly looking for solutions, I post on social networks to get international help and I also spare no effort to find help on the spot. I went to restaurants, bakeries... they all told me they had nothing to give me. In the whole city, only two women help us with leftover food from time to time.

Unfortunately, food supply is not my only problem, I also have debts to the vet for sterilisations and medicines, and I have no money to pay them back at the moment. Winter is also fast approaching and this only adds to the difficulties already present. I'm worried about the straw, the kennels... but to be honest, the most terrifying thing is the lack of kibble. Without kibble, the puppies won't be able to keep warm and survive the freezing cold of Romania..."

5. Andreea isn't asking for money, only kibble to prevent the puppies from starving.

###

"I have been rescuing animals for over 10 years. I started by taking one dog home, then two, then I lost count! I fought for years with the municipality to get funding and build a proper pound where dogs could be treated humanely. When the pound was finally built, it was the reward for all my efforts!

A decade later, however, the fight is far from over. It takes time to change attitudes, especially in a rural area like ours. People have been aware of my actions for a long time, but that doesn't mean that I am congratulated for what I do nonetheless... You'd be surprised, a lot of people say to me "Why do you choose to take care of dogs? They're just animals!

That's just the way it is, I've learned to deal with it... I don't let myself be overwhelmed by these comments and I continue to do my bit to make things happen. I do spay/neuter campaigns, raise money online for dogs and puppies from the pound, and keep very young puppies in my home, to make sure they don't develop diseases. I know my actions are beneficial to the dogs and to the community, even if most people here don't see it that way!"

6. If this campaign succeeds, Andreea will not receive any money but 1200 kg of junior kibble, delivered from Animal Webaction's logistic platform in Romania.

Animal Webaction has a logistic platform in Romania, which allows us to intervene quickly and deliver kibble.

7. International aid has been redirected to Ukraine, Andreea no longer knows where to turn to feed the many puppies in her care!

"I currently work with three organizations abroad for adoptions, two in France and one in Germany. Unfortunately, in the last few months, our adoptions have dropped significantly. In the last three months, 1 dog has been adopted in France, and 4 in Germany, while our average is usually 25-30 dogs per month combined.

I tried to contact a Belgian organisation for help but they denied my request, telling me that they are now helping Ukraine. Things were already complicated, but now it is even more difficult to get help... Yet I need help more than ever to look after and feed so many puppies!"

8. Actions launched on Animal Webaction often fail.

When a campaign fails, Animal Webaction cannot deliver the products. The organizer doesn't receive anything and the buyers are refunded.

9. In Romania, it is difficult to find funds for kibbles, there are no aid, no grants, no foundation... Many abandoned dogs die alone in the streets, in complete indifference...
