Parasite in the heart, cancer, physical aftermath of abuse ... poor Harold has been through hell!

1. He has been mistreated in many ways that have not left him unscathed...

Harold is a 12 years old dog, that we took in following a judicial requisition. The poor guy spent 11 years of his life locked up in a dark hallway! Because he was regularly beaten, he developed arthritis in his lumbar region...

2. He has a worm in his heart!

Wherever he was, Harold got heartworm disease. This disease is caused by a worm in the heart. It can cause breathing difficulties and endanger the life of the animal. For now, Harold's heart is weakened and we need to monitor it closely.

3. He has cancer and is in the hospital.

Unfortunately, Harold has testicular cancer and had to be hospitalized. He will need a long recovery period to recover.

4. Quality canned food would help him regain his strength

To gradually recover from his hospital stay, Harold will need a rich and balanced diet. Canned food of vitamin-enriched food would be a good way for him to get his energy back.

5. Caring for senior dogs is very expensive...

We are going to have to slow down on new rescues, as we are already caring for almost 120 dogs, most of them elderly and sick.

With the veterinary costs piling up, it is becoming really complicated to do more... At the moment, we are at 50,000 euros of care bills per year!
