Badly reconsolidated fractures, deformed legs, urinary infections: poor Kiwi lacked care!

1. He lacked food and was skeletal!

Kiwi is a 15 years old dog, who was used as a guard dog by his owner. The poor guy slept outside, in a simple cardboard kennel! Since he was not always fed, he was skeletal when he arrived... It will take time for him to regain a normal weight.

2. His health has deteriorated, because he has not been cared for...

Kiwi had fractures which were badly reconsolidated, because of lack of care. His legs are completely deformed, which makes it difficult for him to walk.

He also has regular urinary infections and must take a treatment for his heart. His age and his weight do not arrange anything with all these problems...

3. He has no more teeth

With time and lack of dental care, Kiwi's teeth have all fallen out. The poor guy can't chew anymore!

4. Wet canned food would help him regain his strength

To get his energy back despite the state of his teeth, Kiwi will need wet food, like canned food. This would be an opportunity for him to continue to gain weight, with the ability to eat his fill every day.

5. Caring for senior dogs is very expensive...

We are going to have to slow down on new rescues, as we are already taking care of almost 120 dogs, most of them old and sick.

With the veterinary expenses piling up, it becomes really complicated to do more... For the moment, we are at 50 000 euros of care bills per year!
