1. In Morocco, Rokaya is almost out of kibble to feed the 163 dogs at her shelter. They will starve unless someone intervenes!

"I’m truly living the hardest days of my life in the shelter! Prices of gas, kibble, rice, pasta, canned food... everything has doubled in the last few months in Morocco. And because of the global economic crisis, I've also lost many donors who used to help regularly. The donations I receive at this stage don't even cover even half of my dogs' needs...

I am drowning in debts, at the vet, the food supplier...and I've even had to let one employee go because I simply didn't have enough money to continue paying their wage. Problems just keep accumulating and the most frightening one of all is the struggle to feed my dogs! Right now, I have a very limited stock of kibble, for  another 2-3 days max...

I'm extremely stressed, I can't sleep, I wake up in the middle of the night thinking about my dogs not having enough to eat, thinking about the fact that this campaign could fail... I truly have no other option than Animal Webaction to feed my dogs at this stage. This campaign has to succeed! It's our only option to be able to procure food, and the only way that my dogs will stay alive..."

2. Without a solution in sight to feed her dogs, Rokaya fears that she will have to put them back on the street... not all will make it.

###

"My shelter is the only one in Tetouan and currently houses 163 dogs. Some of them have been with me for years, many of them are disabled, injured, or chronically ill.... One thing is for sure, they would all have died in the street without my help and the care I give them on a daily basis. Having said that, our current lack of support calls everything into question... Our situation has never been worse!

We no longer have the resources to care for our dogs properly and any further rescue has become impossible. Not being able to help street dogs is very painful, but my fears go even further... If our situation remains unchanged, if the help and donations don't pick up, even a little bit... I am terribly afraid that I will have to close the shelter and let the dogs go back to the streets. It is absolutely unthinkable!

I can't abandon my shelter and I can't abandon my animals... My association is the only hope for these dogs, no one else in this city will take care of 163 dogs and feed them. My dogs' survival is at stake here, and it can only be ensured if this campaign succeeds..."

3. Affected by a virus, Tila is losing weight and getting weaker by the day... She needs kibble to survive the illness!

###

"Tila is a young female of about 10 months. She was found in the street with a wound in her abdomen. It is not known if she was hit by a car or if she was attacked by other dogs. She has been in the shelter for a few months now and although she has recovered from her injury, she is certainly not out of the woods.

Her health is very fragile, she has lost a lot of weight lately. According to the vet, she has caught a virus. She has balance problems, she is so weak that she can hardly stand! While waiting for a more precise diagnosis, she has been placed in isolation from other dogs to avoid any contamination. But in the meantime, she absolutely needs a good diet to keep her going. She's already so thin, she won't survive starvation!"

4. Donations have dropped massively and the association receives no subsidy, Rokaya is in debt and can no longer buy kibble!

###

"When I created the association, I hoped that animal lovers would get involved and invest in helping me. I thought that little by little I would gain support, that everyone would donate a small monthly amount and that, put together, we would be able to cover the dogs' needs without too much difficulty. In the end, I was stupid to think that all people loved animals and wanted to help them... the reality is quite different!

Moroccan individuals do not have the means to help and the authorities do not consider animal welfare a priority. Even abroad, the few supporters I have are in great difficulty, many can no longer donate at all, or not as much as before. I have debts everywhere! At the vet's office, at the kibble supplier, for the rent... When you only have one problem, you can solve it, but when you have a ton of problems, it seems insurmountable. Kibble is a dog's most basic need and yet getting it is our biggest problem! One thing is for sure, nothing will be possible without the success of this campaign!"

5. Rokaya isn't asking for money, only kibble to prevent the dogs from starving.

###

"I decided to get involved with animals because I realized there wasn't a single organization taking care of the stray issue in Tetouan. I started by taking care of cats and dogs in my neighborhood - giving them food, water, cleaning their eyes, etc. After a certain time, I decided to create a Facebook group with all of the people interested in helping animals I knew at the time. Shortly after, I created the organization and afterwards, the first local shelter ever in Tetouan. It all happened gradually and yet, quite quickly!

They were only a few dogs at the beginning and now I have close to 200...I like to be around my dogs, I feel happy and content when I'm with them. I also feel very proud because I know what these dogs have to endure in the streets, and I know that by bringing them here, I have saved them from death. Here they are safe from all kind of physical abuse and killing... For the community and for the dogs, I know that my actions are more than necessary! I just need a little more help to be able to continue..."

6. If this campaign succeeds, Rokaya will not receive any money but 2000 kg of kibble, delivered from Animal Webaction's logistics platform in Morocco.

Animal Webaction has a logistic platform in Morocco which allows us to intervene quickly and deliver kibble throughout the country.

7. Efforts to publicize the shelter have not been successful, and calls for help remain unanswered. Rokaya is begging us to intervene!

"In the last few months, 3 influencers came to visit my shelter. At the beginning I was very excited and happy because I thought that my actions would gain visibility and I hoped that people would make donations after seeing the videos. But unfortunately I only received small donations from 3 people.

I post as much as possible on my social media too, but the result is not much more conclusive. I have contacted many organisations that people suggested to me in comments on my page, but unfortunately I have never received a positive response so far. Most of them replied that they would help me later or that they were already helping other shelters in other countries.

The only organisation that has helped me so far is Animal Webaction... These campaigns are a lifesaver every time, and I only hope we can make it happen again. My dogs need it badly!"

8. Campaigns launched on Animal Webaction often fail.

When a campaign fails, Animal Webaction cannot deliver the products. The beneficiary doesn't receive anything and the buyers are refunded.

9. In Morocco, donors are scarce, and there are no foundations or subsidies. It is very difficult to find funding for kibble, many dogs remain starving in the street!
