1. In Romania, Manuela will soon be out of kibble to feed the 99 dogs at her shelter, they will starve if no one intervenes!

%%%

"The 99 dogs we take care of at the shelter were rescued from awful deaths at the local pound. Their number is higher than ever before… Since abandonments are steadily increasing, new dogs get caught all the time! Our adoption rate doesn’t match the arrivals and our kennels are crowded!

We lack the resources to buy kibble and now, in less than a week, there won’t be any left in our storage. We’re now rationing our remaining stock and as winter arrives, we’re concerned about the dogs not eating enough quantities and quality to face the harsh weather conditions… They're so vulnerable.

Donations have never been so low and fundraisers so unsuccessful... Without kibble, our dogs will starve and eventually, we’ll have to refrain and stop rescuing dogs from the public pound, where they are getting atrociously killed - if this campaign succeeds, we’ll have a chance to avoid these tragedies!"

2. The shelter's dogs are famished and scrawny: they are too weak to survive the winter without this kibble delivery!

###

"We have no other choice but to feed our dogs with the cheapest and lowest quality kibble. We’re worried about the side effects on them. Almost each time we rescue one, they’re in terrible physical and mental conditions, all skin and bones… The constatation is sad: most of them remain extremely weak.

It’s hard for them to fully recover without enough quality kibble: many of them were rescued quite long ago and yet, they’re still emaciated… They just can’t gain any weight nor build up strength on such a diet! Besides, the kibble is so terrible the dogs get diarrhoea! They’re visibly getting even thinner…

When we take them in, the least they deserve is proper food to heal, to become stronger and to help with human socialisation… Yet now, we’ve reached a point where it’s impossible to feed them enough. This campaign is our only solution, for many dogs' lives are doomed."

3. Torry has a traumatising past behind him: he's submissive and only eats leftovers! Without kibble, his survival is uncertain...

###

"Torry is a five-year-old dog who was rescued from the pound and it was a literal matter of hours before he would be brutally put down… He was in an advanced state of malnourishment and barely made it. Yet we managed to provide him with medical care on time! He remains profoundly traumatised by the violence he had to go through…

Our lack of kibble makes all the socialisation efforts go backwards! He’s extremely shy and submissive, so the other dogs always eat first. Torry often ends up only eating some kibble leftovers if we don’t look after him! He really needs this kibble delivery to get a chance to eat his fill, heal his psychological wounds and find a loving home, one day…"

4. The shelter is in dire straits: donations keep dropping and with inflation, getting kibble has never been so difficult!

###

"We entirely rely on donations to run the shelter and they only come from abroad - we get none from Romania. It was easier to feed the dogs, back in the days: we got enough kibble thanks to donors. But it’s been a real struggle with inflation and its negative effects for a few months now.

Basically, every vital and necessary expense for the dogs has increased too much for us to cope. Even our foreign donors have been donating less and less, because of the plunging economy. It keeps getting harder to feed all the dogs; their number increases but our resources decrease…

Kibble prices are unaffordable and only a few of our dogs are sponsored, so it doesn’t allow to cover all of their needs. We don’t get any support from the Romanian government; the only help we get is from abroad but it's decreased a lot too! This Animal Webaction campaign is all we have left to feed our dogs…"

5. Manuela is not asking for money, only kibble to keep the dogs from starving.

###

"I’ve had compassion towards animals and cared about them since childhood… In 2009, I became a founding member of the association. The shelter is among the pillars of my life, alongside my family and my job. Everyone at Lupy knows that the shelter is essential for so many lives in the area… Our actions make the difference between getting dogs adopted and loved, and letting them suffer before being brutally killed in the local pound…

Yet, abandonments still seem to be considered a normal habit and a huge majority of people don’t sterilise their pets. As a result, we’re rescuing up to 20 new dogs from the pound each month! They are true survivors and we do everything to heal them and have them adopted but sadly, people have been increasingly more reluctant to adopt in the past months. Rescuing so many dogs has become too difficult as we lack resources, space, kibble… We hope many people will help us to keep the dogs fed and safe!"

6. If this campaign succeeds, Manuela will not receive any money but 2400 kg of kibble, delivered from Animal Webaction's logistics centre in Romania.

Animal Webaction has a logistics centre in Romania which enables us to intervene quickly and deliver kibble.

7. The shelter's supporters have already done their best to help but it's not enough for so many mouths to feed! This campaign cannot fail...

“We can count on several French organisations in terms of promoting our dogs for adoption online, communication, sponsorship, collecting funds, goods, kibble… We wouldn’t be able to continue our rescue missions without their help, but now, our situation is too desperate and they have done all they could for us…

Although we may get some occasional help from international organisations, they’re also helping many other animal protection organisations in need and, considering the large number of dogs at Lupy, they can’t provide sufficient support anyway… This campaign is really our last resort to save our dogs!“

8. Campaigns launched on Animal Webaction often fail...

When a campaign fails, Animal Webaction cannot deliver the products. The beneficiary doesn't receive anything and the buyers are refunded.

9. In Romania, it is difficult to find funds for kibble, there are no aid, no grants, no foundation... Many abandoned dogs die alone in the streets, in complete indifference...
