Animal Webaction visited the site 10 December 2022 and confirms the situation described below.

1. In Morocco, Hanane has almost no kibble left to feed her shelter’s 130 dogs. They will starve if no one helps!

%%%

"I take care of more than 130 dogs at the shelter and there are countless others on the streets... Dogs are mistreated on a daily basis here: as soon as they become "unwanted" by their owners, they are neglected or abandoned...

I severely lack of means and donations; it's very difficult to feed the dogs because I can't buy kibble at all! Now I only have a few kilos left, despite having already started rationing the dogs' portions for the last 15 days...

Inflation makes my situation even worse and limits my actions... I live in constant fear of not being able to feed my dogs, I am desperate! I don't know how to get out of it... This campaign is my only hope to offer my dogs a decent existence..."

2. The dogs are starving and fighting each other to survive: without kibble, Hanane fears the worst for the most fragile dogs at the shelter...

###

"My dogs don't eat enough and it affects them enormously: they become really aggressive and fight each other! I have to be extra vigilant and constantly present to avoid fights and isolate the most dominant dogs. It's very stressful...

On top of that, many of them are skeletal, they have no energy and can't gain weight... They lack the nutrients they need to be in shape and are regularly prone to digestive problems, which doesn't help their case!

I am very afraid for the most vulnerable ones! My dogs have experienced the appalling living conditions of the streets. I find them injured, sick, malnourished... I am torn between fear and anxiety at the thought of losing one of my dogs to the lack of kibble, I need help to prevent starvation at the shelter!"

3. Dhika is skeletal, very weak and submissive: without kibble, her survival is at stake!

###

"Dhika is 3 years old and I found her in the street a few months ago: she was painfully thin and could hardly stand on her feet... Although she is now at the shelter, she is still very emaciated and has a lot of trouble feeding herself; the other more dominant dogs eat from her bowl...

I'm afraid she'll get worse if she doesn't eat more... She's really weak and her fragile health is an open door to all kinds of infections and diseases! The lack of kibble puts her in danger!"

4. Low donations and high inflation prevent Hanane from getting kibble: if this campaign fails, she won't be able to feed her dogs anymore!

###

"Back then, I used to be able to feed my dogs meat... But now, it's just a financial disaster! It has become really difficult to feed the dogs because of the lack of donations, whether in kind or financial... Small organisations like mine entirely depend on donations to finance veterinary expenses, shelter's improvement and, above all, food...

The increase in prices plays an important role in making it impossible for people to make donations. Everything has become very expensive and I myself am unable to pay off my huge debts to the vet! Sterilisations, surgeries and complex treatments are exorbitantly expensive yet essential given the rescues I do... I don't know how I'm going to continue to save and feed my dogs... this campaign is the only solution!"

5. Hanane is not asking for money, only kibble to prevent the dogs from starving.

###

"I have always been passionate about animals and I created the shelter to take care of stray dogs and cure them of all their ailments. I am very passionate about this and I am dedicated to it! I am in favour of TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return), which consists of catching a stray dog, having them sterilised and vaccinated before releasing them with an identification earring... In this way, overpopulation is slowed down and gradually reduced by preventing the massive reproduction of street dogs...

I haven't had any adoptions for 3 months, unfortunately, but I sincerely believe that my actions are making a difference locally: I am proud to be able to help the dogs heal and regain their strength! The local population appreciates my work, compliments me, thanks me... It makes me happy to know that I am improving the dogs' lives. I just wish that attitudes would continue to change in the right direction towards strays, as any help is always welcome to continue caring for the animals!"

6. If this campaign succeeds, Hanane will not receive any money but 2000 kg of kibble, delivered from the Animal Webaction's logistics centre in Morocco.

Animal Webaction has a logistics centre in Morocco, which allows us to intervene quickly and deliver kibble.

7. Hanane's supporters have done all they can: this campaign is her last chance to feed her dogs...

"The money I receive does not allow me to cover essential expenses related to my actions and the shelter, such as sterilisation or kibble to feed the dogs... Brands sometimes donate packets of kibble, but in quantities too small for me to be able to feed my dogs in the long run...

I have tried everything, I have made appeals for help and I have contacted different organisations to help me, but nothing has come of it... I hope that the economic situation will recover quickly, because as it stands, it is disastrous for animal protection! I am afraid that this campaign will fail, it is my last solution to feed my dogs and all my hopes now lie on its success!"

8. Campaigns launched on Animal Webaction often fail...

When a campaign fails, Animal Webaction cannot deliver the products. The beneficiary doesn't receive anything and the buyers are refunded.

9. In Morocco, donors are scarce, and there are no foundations or subsidies. It is very difficult to find funding for kibble, many dogs remain starving on the street!
