1. In France, Laetitia has no kibble left to feed the 252 street cats she cares for... The poor things are in danger of starving!

"Recently, our association had to take over new feeding points. We now have to manage 252 free cats, which is enormous! Our stocks, which were already at their lowest, have fallen to zero. We have been rationing the cats since October 2022, but now we have nothing left to feed them!

Unfortunately, buying with our own money bit by bit is not an option: neither I nor the volunteers have the financial resources to do so. So the street cats are becoming increasingly hungry... They are getting weaker and sicker. On some sites, there are outbreaks of coryza. Sterilised cats are even fighting because they are so hungry! The situation is really disastrous..."

2. Overwhelmed by the number of births and the number of cats being taken care of, the association has to cope with less resources than ever...

"Because of the crisis, shops are refusing us collections, which could be helpful to us. At the same time, donations are down by 70% compared to last year. Before, we used to receive donations of several hundred euros. Now, it is rare to receive more than 20 euros at a time, and it remains very sporadic...

As for sterilisations, the subsidies from the town hall only cover a third of our annual costs. With abandonment increasing, many house cats end up on the street. And as the situation is very difficult, two associations have shut down in the area. So we find ourselves alone, having to manage an ever-increasing number of cats, without any financial means!

And the situation is not going to get any better: since January, there have already been 60 births, so 60 more mouths to feed. We don't even dare to imagine what it will be like in the spring, when more and more cats will be pregnant..."

3. Severely weakened by two major viruses, poor Flo is completely exhausted... he needs kibble urgently!

"Flo is an old free cat, who is in a pitiful state after years of living on the streets. The poor guy has a combination of coryza and calicivirus: his nose is congested, he sneezes, his eyes are purulent and the inside of his mouth is inflamed. Living with these symptoms on a daily basis is exhausting for him! So we have several treatments to give him. But without kibble, he can't take it...

The poor thing struggles to find anything to get his strength back, but resources are very scarce where he lives. He often goes to the garbage, but what he finds there sometimes makes him even sicker. Without kibble, his condition will continue to deteriorate. He won't survive!"

4. Laetitia is not asking for money, she just needs kibble to prevent street cats from starving.

"I don't count the time I spend with the cats, but it takes several hours every morning and evening. I've been taking care of these cats for 15 years, and I started the association three years ago.

The president has also been doing this for 10 years. It is unthinkable for us to stop! And yet, given the current situation, our actions are increasingly limited. The possibility that abandoned cats will be left to their fate revolts and saddens us enormously..."
