Animal Webaction visited the site 10 December 2023 and confirms the situation described below.

1. In Morocco, Rokaya has almost run out of kibble to feed the 175 dogs at her shelter. They already don't eat enough and will starve if no one helps!

%%%

"We only have a few days' supply of kibble left at the shelter. To try to prolong this limited stock, I have reduced the portions distributed to our dogs, a decision with serious consequences. I see their condition deteriorating every day, they're losing weight and their strength is waning...

This situation is also having a devastating impact on our mission: rescues of new dogs are now on hold. Without a sufficient supply of kibble, it's impossible to welcome and care for new arrivals!

This kibble campaign is our last hope. Our fight for kibble is about survival, not comfort! Without your support, my dogs' fate is sealed, a fate I can't accept..."

2. The lack of kibble makes dogs more vulnerable to diseases... Rokaya fears the worst for the most fragile of them!

###

"Every day that goes by without kibble is a step closer to a health crisis for our dogs. Their immune systems, already weakened by the lack of adequate nutrition, make them more vulnerable. Already, I'm noticing a decrease in their resistance to common ailments... If I don't find a quick way to remedy the kibble shortage, dogs who are already ill will have no chance of recovering...

Even more worryingly, this growing hunger is disrupting social cohesion within the group. Aggressive behavior is beginning to emerge. I feel helpless in the face of this crisis, which affects not only the physical health of my dogs, but also their well-being...

The urgency is palpable. Without immediate intervention, the worst is to be feared. This campaign is our only chance to provide the dogs with the nutrition they need to survive and recover. Every contribution can make the difference in saving these innocent lives!"

3. Appeals for donations, requests for subsidies and sponsorships... Despite her best efforts, Rokaya is unable to secure the kibble she needs to feed her dogs!

###

"In my fight against the shortage of kibble at the shelter, I've made every effort imaginable. I launched appeals for donations on social networks, hoping to touch kind hearts. The photos and videos I posted on social networks aimed to raise awareness of the daily reality of our dogs, showing their faces and sharing their stories. I set up a sponsorship program, offering the opportunity to support each dog individually.

I've tried to negotiate reduced prices with our suppliers, but margins are tight. Partnerships with schools have been established, creating educational projects to instill in the younger generation the importance of animal care. Unfortunately, my requests to the government for subsidies have gone unanswered.

Faced with these challenges, my anxiety is permanent. Despite my actions, the threat of a kibble shortage still looms, jeopardizing the health and survival of my dogs. This campaign is now my last hope to ensure my dogs receive the kibble they desperately need!"

4. Rokaya isn't asking for money, only kibble to prevent the dogs from starving.

###

"The shortage of kibble is more than just a logistical problem; it undermines the very foundations of my mission. Without kibble, the dogs lose the stable routine that is essential to their well-being. And my days, once dedicated to the care and socialization of the dogs, are now consumed by a never-ending quest to find kibble...

Our ability to respond to emergencies and rescue stray dogs is also seriously compromised. What's more, the shortage of kibble is hampering my efforts to raise awareness of the animal cause, a vital component of my work.

This shortage threatens the very existence of our rescue mission. Every day without kibble brings us closer to a point of no return, where maintaining our activities will become impossible!"

5. The day-to-day running of the shelter is fraught with obstacles, but Rokaya perseveres, aware of her crucial role in rehabilitating these unfortunate animals.

###

"Running a dog shelter alone means facing mountains of obstacles every day. Beyond the economic challenges, the sadness of seeing dogs suffer before my eyes is a poignant daily reality. This suffering is compounded by a sense of isolation, due to the lack of local support.

Despite this, I strive to change people's attitudes to animal protection. Every dog I save, every small improvement I see on a daily basis is a victory in my mission. Stories of successful adoptions fill me with hope, giving me the strength to carry on despite the challenges. These bright moments are what keep me going, even when the situation seems hopeless."

6. If this campaign succeeds, Rokaya will not receive any money but 2000 kg of kibble, delivered from Animal Webaction's logistics platform in Morocco.

Animal Webaction has a logistics centre in Morocco which allows us to intervene quickly and deliver kibble throughout the country.

7. Campaigns launched on Animal Webaction often fail...

When a campaign fails, Animal Webaction cannot deliver the products. The beneficiary doesn't receive anything and the buyers are refunded.

8. In Morocco, donors are scarce, and there are no foundations or subsidies. It is very difficult to find funding for kibble, many dogs remain starving in the street!
