O'Malley's tongue abscess is preventing him from eating properly. He's on his last legs!

1. He's constantly suffering from a painful mouth

O'Malley is an elderly cat. Life hasn't been kind to him. He suffers from FIV, the feline equivalent of AIDS. His immune system has already taken a considerable hit, making him extremely vulnerable.

And it's perhaps due to this that he has a nasty abscess on his tongue. This hinders him daily: the simple act of eating is a source of pain and his strength continues to wane with each passing day...

2. Canned food is crucial for his nutrition

O'Malley requires the softest food possible. It's crucial to minimise his pain while eating. With canned food, he can start to consume more regular meals and gradually regain some energy. This is absolutely vital for his ongoing battle against the disease!

3. We are going through a rough patch at the moment

We've recently taken in a high number of kittens and have been struggling to cover the veterinary costs, among other things. Adding to this, we aren't having many successful adoptions. As a result, we are being forced to refuse taking in more cats, which truly breaks our hearts.
