"For months now, I've been rationing food for the 370 cats at the shelter and the 900 street cats managed by the volunteers. The lack of kibble has repercussions on their health: many of them have become weak and fallen ill. They depend on me for their survival, but I have nothing left to give them. I've just finished the last bag of kibble and I'm really worried...

2. Hungry, the cats start to fight among themselves or fall ill... Corinne fears that they will die away one after the other!
"Whether it's the cats in the shelter or those on the street, they are all affected by the kibble shortage. Without kibble, the weakest will not recover from their illnesses and even the strongest risk seeing their health decline. The care I give them every day won't be enough without adequate food.
Tensions rise between them as they suffer from hunger: fights break out over a few crumbs! The cats are stressed and starving, and I fear that without a rapid renewal of the stock, the mortality rate will rise considerably. Every day without kibble is another step towards a future where losses will be a daily reality. The success of this campaign is vital! It's the only defense against an outcome that I refuse to contemplate...".
3. Request for grants, search for partnerships, calls for donations… all of Corinne’s efforts went down the drain!
"In my never-ending quest to feed all these cats, I knocked on many doors, hoping for support that never materialised. The animal welfare organisations, overwhelmed by requests, have been unable to provide the practical help we desperately need. The grants I'd hoped to get to buy kibble didn't materialise, and the partnerships I'd envisaged with local shops didn't work out.
I have approached other shelters, but the reality is that we are all in the same precarious situation. The local authorities, although aware of our distress, have failed to provide the necessary help. Every day, I feel deeply discouraged by these repeated failures, and increasingly powerless when I see that our online appeals for donations are not enough. Given all this, the situation of the cats has become alarming and is getting worse every day...".
4. Corinne isn't asking for money, only kibble to prevent the cats from starving.
"At our shelter, the lack of stock has a widespread impact. Without this kibble, extending our action to save more cats is no longer an option. Daily operations, which used to be punctuated by meals and care, are now undermined by the impossibility of maintaining a stable feeding routine. The capacity to welcome newcomers is directly affected by this shortage.
Every cat that arrives carries the hope of a better future, but without the necessary kibble, that future is compromised. The current situation threatens the very essence of our rescue project. Every day without kibble reduces our ability to meet the essential needs and emergencies that are bound to arise. The need is real and pressing, and without rapid help, the whole balance of our shelter is in danger of collapsing!"
5. Corinne fights alone for the survival of the cats left behind...
"I wake up every day determined to make the world a better place for the abandoned cats that have found shelter under my care. It's not unusual for sadness to overcome me when I see the distress of the animals left behind, but it's also what keeps me going, despite the constant financial challenges.
I'm fighting to confront the indifference that often surrounds our cause, hoping to raise more people's awareness. It's a burden that I carry alone most of the time. Their survival is my absolute priority, because they have only me to rely on. Helping them is an ongoing commitment that I have no right to give up!"
