Arthur is infected with calicivirus and has lost many of his teeth…

1. He struggles to eat due to a virus

Arthur is an elderly male cat living on the streets where he unfortunately contracted calicivirus. His gums are so inflamed that some of his teeth have become loose and as a result, he can no longer chew his food.

2. He often suffers from cat flu relapses

Being a carrier of the cat flu virus, Arthur often suffers from relapses. The smallest change in temperature could trigger his symptoms.

3. To continue feeding him, he will need canned food

A moist-textured food would allow Arthur to eat without needing to chew. In doing so, he will be able to regain strength and fight the viruses more effectively.

Such canned food tailored to his age would help stave off additional health problems such as diabetes and kidney failure.

4. The situation of the charity is very strained

I have recently had to take on new kittens and their mother. Presently, my charity is responsible for 80 cats, which is overwhelming for such a small organisation. Without any grants, it's not possible for me to stock up on food.
