We cannot let the dogs cared for by Nassima and Rachid at the shelter and on the streets starve to death!

Animal Webaction visited the site 03 March 2024 and confirms the situation described below.

1. In Morocco, Nassima and Rachid are almost out of kibble to feed the many dogs they care for in their shelter and on the street. They will starve to death if no one intervenes!

"At the shelter, the situation is critical. In just a few weeks, the number of dogs has doubled. This rapid increase is due to the many dogs we have rescued from the municipal pound, where they were condemned to die. Each new arrival reminds us of the harsh reality that our already limited resources are now overwhelmed. Food is becoming scarce. Every day, we note with concern that the dogs, both at the shelter and on the streets, are not getting enough to eat. Their weight loss is becoming alarming!

I watch with sadness as these dogs, having been saved from certain death, face a new danger: hunger. I wonder how we can continue to feed them... The prospect of seeing them go hungry haunts me! Every missed meal is a blow to their recovery. They need strength to survive, and without new kibble, I fear their condition will worsen tragically..."

2. Without a new kibble stock, fights and diseases will get worse, condemning the shelter's many vulnerable dogs...

###

"At the shelter, tensions run high, especially at mealtimes. The dogs are starving and fighting over the meagre portions available. I'm afraid that if we don't find a solution soon, tensions will escalate even further... The most vulnerable dogs, such as those fresh from the pound, the youngest and the oldest, are suffering the most. Their ability to withstand food deprivation is limited. Without kibble, their weight loss could become critical, and minor illnesses or fights could take a tragic turn!

The shelter, which should be a haven of peace, risks becoming a place of despair and suffering if this campaign fails. This prospect fills me with a sense of helplessness and sadness. I'm tormented by the thought of not being able to protect them, of seeing them wither away before my very eyes... We're facing a critical situation that only this delivery of kibble can resolve!"

3. Fruitless negotiations, unsuccessful requests for help... Nassima and Rachid are faced with the immense pressure of saving animals in declining health without sufficient resources.

###

"In this struggle to find kibble, we've explored every possible option. We've appealed to our community, but the responses have been timid. We've tried to negotiate with suppliers, but they haven't been able to offer discounts, and existing debts prevent us from obtaining further payment terms...

We have even considered lower-quality kibbles, but the dogs' health has suffered. Our requests for help from charities have gone unanswered, as their funds have already been allocated elsewhere.

Every effort to find a solution proved fruitless, leading us to a state of exhaustion and discouragement. The pressure to save these animals is immense, and their declining health weighs heavily on us. Every day, we fight for them, but sometimes it feels like we're fighting a losing battle!"

4. Nassima and Rachid aren't asking for money, only kibble to keep the dogs from starving.

###

"The lack of kibble is profoundly affecting our actions on behalf of dogs. Our daily routine, previously focused on their well-being, is now dominated by the struggle for their survival. The inability to provide adequate nutrition compromises our preventative veterinary care program. Traumatized dogs, so in need of careful rehabilitation, cannot recover properly without adequate nutrition.

Adoption initiatives and efforts to reduce the number of stray dogs are severely hampered by their malnourished state. Starving dogs are less likely to be adopted, reducing their chances of finding a loving home. Our mission to transform the lives of these abandoned animals is threatened. Without a reliable source of food, it's almost impossible to plan for the shelter's future. Every day without kibble diminishes our chances of succeeding in saving these lives."

5. Nassima and the association's volunteers strive to offer abandoned animals a better life, driven by the hope of a future without suffering for them.

###

"I treat every dog in the shelter like a member of my own family. I'm grateful for every moment I can make a difference, however small, in the lives of these animals. However, the precariousness of resources turns every day into a constant struggle for the survival of these innocent beings. My heart is torn between the desire to save more lives and the reality of our limited ability to provide adequate care...

I often feel alone in this struggle, faced with limited support. In spite of everything, the unconditional love for these animals and the hope of better days give me the strength to carry on. Every morning, I get up with the determination to do everything in my power for these dogs, hoping for a future where they will no longer know hunger or suffering..."

6. If this campaign succeeds, Nassima and Rachid will not receive any money, but 1500 kg of kibble, delivered from Animal Webaction's logistics centre in Morocco.

Animal Webaction has a logistics centre in Morocco, which enables us to intervene quickly and deliver kibble everywhere in the country.

7. Campaigns launched on Animal Webaction often fail...

When a campaign fails, Animal Webaction cannot deliver the products, the beneficiary does not receive anything and the buyers are refunded.

8. In Morocco, donors are scarce, and there are no foundations or subsidies. It is very difficult to find funding for kibble, many dogs remain starving in the streets!
