1. He was shot at!

Patou is a 10-year-old dog who has spent his life on the streets of the Reunion Island. Poor thing, he was shot at there! He was injured in his spinal cord, resulting in permanent hindquarter paralysis.

2. He caught a parasitic disease...

Bitten by an insect, Patou contracted a tropical disease called leishmaniasis. After this bite, parasites invaded his body, placing his life in danger. As a result, he now needs regular treatment.

3. He hasn't got a single tooth left!

Patou is suffering from a disease that gradually destroys his teeth. He's now left without a single tooth and is unable to chew food - something unusual in Malinois dogs...

4. Canned food would help him maintain his energy

To sustain his energy levels throughout the day, Patou will need canned food. Wet food will help him regain strength, despite his lack of teeth, and also provides an easy way for him to ingest his medication.

5. The year ends as badly as it started...

As the year comes to an end, we are facing mounting difficulties: successive cold spells, shortage of donations, almost fruitless food drives... We’re at a precipice, unsure if we can continue!
